Maytag top load washer shakes. The plastic tub seem to be the problem. I took the front off and watched it spin. The tub seems to want to lean to one side and spin out of round moving up and down. All...

Seems with your observation that the tub is out of shape and so it might be wobbling when it runs. So the only option is to change the tub with a new one but the cost must be confirmed to decide between a new tub or a new washer.
If you can get a salvaged tub it will be economical.

Drum leaning forward, top apron came off WP Ultimate Care II

The spring you see hanging in the back is called the counterbalance spring, the long one as you described it. The purpose of this spring is to counterbalance the weight of the motor hanging in the front, where it is leaning. It is hooked into the back frame of the washer, have seen the hole wear through on other washers, it is a simple matter to drill another hole and hook the spring next to where it has wore through.

As to your top and the ears, would recommend pulling off the entire cabinet to look at it. This washer is front serviceable, you rotate the control panel up, a screw in each end cap holds it down or some concealed springs that are released by pushing in with a putty knife under the front bottom of each end cap.(there are two types) Under the control panel you will see two clips to release and the lid switch plug, then the whole cabinet assembly simply pulls off towards you.
There is a direct drive coupling between the transmission and motor that takes the place of a belt and may be ready for replacement, also has dogs in the dual agitator that can be serviced. There are descriptions of this on fixya, it is a fairly common washer design,
good luck.

It seems that the drum is spinning off its axis

When a front load washer does not spin properly, the problem can be caused by failed axle that connects the pulley to the wash drum, or failed shock or (possibly) broken suspension springs.
Remove washer top, inspect the two or four springs holding the washer drum up. The whole drum should be able to "bounce" a little, when you press down on it.
Remove the lower front panel and with a flashlight, inspect the two shock absorbers. Both should attach up to the wash drum, but it is common for them to break, especially if the front load washer has been moved from one house to another without re-installing the lower brackets and the long bolts that secure the drum during the move.
If the springs and shocks are not damaged, with the top removed look down into the rear area. You will see a large pulley with a belt on it. If you see brown/black grease marks all over or obvious problem when you try to turn the pulley, you have found the major problem.
Please get back to me with what you find. OK?

Drum seems out of balance does not allow water to drain because water pump hose kinks

Hi, you will have to open machine, and check spring, maybe one of your spring are broken, or strain, first lift top, and remove sides of machine, put hands on tub and rock complete assemble back until tub centers, if tub is tilted left, spring on opposite side, is loose or broken, if broken, replace, but most time they slip out, this is cause, if machine are overloaded, or not level properly, when washers are not properly leveled, when they reach spin cycle, they could go outside and come back in, just making a point, check you machine level before you start. good luck.

Frigadaire front load washer, drum is very low in

Is the drum bouncing around?
Remove the front lower panel and the top from the cabinet. Replace the shocks and/or tub support springs if they are broken.
If the spin is noisy, there might be a problem with the inner basket or the tub bearing.
Good luck!

At the end of each spin cycle it knocks loudly

A Clothes Washer with the complaint of "excessive noise & sssshaking" can typically be a couple of things;

Un-level Washer (Very Likely) - I would level and adjust your legs on your washer appropriately. Make sure when your slighly "push test" your washer, you have no machine movement, rocking or tilting. When the machine is going into the final rinse/spin cycle, the tub can rotate fast and if the washer legs or even the floor is slightly un-level, this can result in your washer to become noisey, shake, etc and can further cause the unit to break-down and no longer spin.

Un-balanced Load (Likely) - Ensure you are loading the washer and distributing the clothes (weight) evenly as this may cause the tub to spin improperly at final spin cycle.

Broken Drum Support/Springs (Likely) - Can be 5" black supports located at inside - top of tub area. Also, springs can also be located at inside bottom rear of machine holding the tub to the rear panel.

Kenmore Elite Washer (He3t) front load

The bearing in the duet is attached to the outer rear tub of the washer. You have to remove the whole rear half of the outer tub. Take off the back and you will see all the screws around the tub where they attach together. you have to buy the whole rear half too. They wont let you replace just the bearings.

Whirlpool washing machine, top load

hi without further investigation its a bit hit or miss , does the whole tub tilt or is it just the inner drum ?
if its just the inner drum then it sounds like the bearings are on there way out
if its the whole tub then it could be one of the springs that it hangs from or the shock absorber underneath that may have come adrift
hope this helps

Kenmore spin cycle thumping noises

I just went through the same issue with my Kenmore front loading washing machine. I assumed (and a Sears repairman also told me) that it is the bearings. After I took the drum assembly out, I saw the rear drum broken and the inner tub hitting the outer tub. I ordered the outer drum assembly and only when I took the inner drum assembly out I realized the the "Spider" attached to the inner drum (and spindle) was broken. Entire drum assembly cost $417 + shipping and it may be cheaper in the long run to buy a new washer. I like the front loaders because they save water and good for the environment, but the US manufacturers have not yet perfected the technology like European manufacturers (or they don't want the machines to last too long just like cars). Anyway, I am looking into welding the spider tomorrow. If not will return the outer tub assembly and buy a top loading washer for $300!
