My dc34 animal stopped mid use

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

Most Dyson vacuums have a built in safety system that stops the machine if it begins to overheat. This usually happens because the filter needs washing or your machine is blocked. If your machine turns off on its own, unplug it and leave it for at least an hour to cool down. Remember to check the filter and look for blockages before re-starting.

The moterhead runs all the time from the moment it is inserted into the main body. Only way to stop the brush rotating is to remove the head unit.

Hi Andrew, it's Jack at Dyson.

The issue you've described suggests there may be an issue with the main body of your DC34 Animal. To confirm this, we would need to talk you through some simple diagnostic checks when you have your machine to hand.

When it's convenient for you, please give the Dyson Customer Helpline a call so we can provide further assistance. You can reach us by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

I have been using Dyson DC34 and DC35 for a few years. A few months back, one of the charger stop working, yesterday the other charger also died. Is this common to Dyson charger?

Hi Aarie, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm sorry to hear you've had difficulties with your Dyson chargers - we certainly wouldn't anticipate multiple issues as you've described. DISMANTLE DYSON DC34

Hi Alan, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm not sure if you're currently having an issue with your machine, or if you wanted to dismantle the components for routine maintenance.

We would strongly advise against dismantling your machine any further that shown in the user guide, as this may cause damage and could void any guarantee on the machine. You can find correct advice on how to use and maintain your machine on our Support page: http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc34/dc34

If you're having a specific issue with your DC34, we'd appreciate the opportunity to take you through some quick diagnostic checks when you have the vacuum to hand. You can reach our experts directly on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).
