I have found that JP weld does not work well when frozen. I would suggest trying Gorilla glue perhaps.....be careful that stuff expands a lot.

SOURCE: fitting an integrated fridge freezer!

Hi Gareth. I fitted a door to my Hotpoint hsz2321L today. I used self tapping screws through the brackets into the fridge door sides. Looking at the old fridge that came out showed that this was the method used previously. No seal is broken and so the fridge is working perfectly. I do have an issue re-fitting the door onto the new fridge though. The pivot hinge on my fridge doesnt give enough clearance and so it catches on the unit at the side of it. The old fridge (a Bosch) cad cabinet hinges that would sort of concertina out to give clearence. Anyway, good luck.

Since that is a low-end store brand you would have to go to Home Depot. Remember, you get what you pay for! Also try this #. 1-877-527-0313.

The chain has snapped and hit the left side crank case and put a hole in it about the size of a 10p. Do you think I could cover this with something and if so can you reccomend anything as the cost of a new...

If you're sure the piece that got punched out is gone and not inside the engine waiting to ruin your day even further then you could in theory get by with good old jb weld.
Remove the cover and totally degrease the thing inside and out. While it's off look for any bits loose inside the cover. Find yourself a bit of steel mesh (window screen) big enough to cover the hole plus a bit. Put the screen over the hole and use a sharpy to mark it's edges. remove the screen and take a drill with a small bit ( < 1/8"). Pop a few holes in the area of coverage of the screen and around the hole. These holes give the jb weld more grip as it will flow into the holes and harden. The holes need not go thru but if a few do its good.
Take a small file and roughen the surface around the hole so the jb weld will have something to grab onto. degrease the area again.......now smear some jb around the hole from the outside and set your screen into the jb weld....add some more jb over the screen. Use a wet finger to smooth out the jb weld (if you add over this then don't forget to clean and roughen again).
Look inside the cover and smooth out any jb that came thru to the inside. Of course you have roughened inside the case so any jb inside will adhere nicely.
Once the jb has fully set you should be good to go....monitor your repair for any leaking. Also look closely for any cracks radiating away from the hole and make sure your repair covers them as well.
Cheers!
Take care.

The bracket that holds it onto the counter top has broken it looks like the spot weld can I fix it?

yes.. You can buy JB weld from local part store or hardware store. It dries in about 12 hours. JB UNderwater weld is the best.

Freezer door won't close - plastic piece that goes under door is raised up and blocking door from closing

There are several type of attachments, so pick the one best suited to you....
1. (most likely) With the door open, pull on the plastic panel. If it is held on by clips, it will pull straight off. Look carefully at the clips on the panel. Usually, they bend out of position after being forced back on. Adjust the clips, and gently press back into place. If they are damaged, the clips can be reattached with a 2 part epoxy. I prefer JB weld epoxy.
2. Locate the screws that holds the plastic piece on, and loosen them. Adjust the piece. Tighten the screws.

I snapped the side door mirror off. wireing is fine but bracket

The correct way would be to replace the unit, but there are many expoxies or two part glues that might get you by. Try JB weld, as I have found it to be the best. Use plenty of it. I am assuming that you do not want to spend the money to get this repaired correctly, and this is the only reason I would suggest JB-Weld, or another epoxy.

Broken shelf

Lenabs,
I was able to find the shelf I needed by typing the brandname and the fridge model number online and I got the number of the part I needed from a diagram but the bad news is that it was aver $40 per shelf and it was just a piece of plastic. The new one would be just as weak as the old one. I finally decided to add some strength to the existing shelf with some hardware store aluminum and glued it on with some JB Weld. I suggest you take the broken plastic piece in with to an ACE hardware and you will be surprised how many pieces of precut shiny aluminum are there for the having.
You can use that JB Weld to join the parts and make them stronger than new. Let me know if you need some more help.
