Is there supposed to be flame coming around the cone of a 115,000 btu reddy forced air kerosne heater?

no. the flame should be behind the cone. If it passes the cone, this means that there is too much air. simply turn the air pressure screw until the flame no longer comes beyond the cone.

Reddy heater 115,000 btu heater runs for about ten minutes then shuts off does this model have a thermostat or carb that might need adjusting????

A heater with this problem is probably the hardest to determine the cause. There is no carb orn thermostat to adj. If it uses a spark plug ignitor I would check the plug gap and make sure it is at an angle to the nozzle. If it has Hot Surface Ignition this will not be the problem. I would then check the fuel filter in the dip tube in the tank and the pump pressure. I should be about 4.5 psi. I would also remove the nozzle and replace it or at least blow it out backwards withlcompressed air to clean it. If all these items fail to correct the problem I would replace the flame sensor. Let me know what you find out or if you have any questions.

Short cycling

There are a few reasons why your furnace is restarting after it reaches temp. and shuts off. First, if you have a mercury bulb thermostat it needs to be level and the heat anticipator needs set properly. If you have an electronic thermostat then you need to make sure the DIP switch settings inside are set properly for propane. If you have a digital thermostat there are also settings to be made for your type of heating. These settings will be explained in the thermostat installation instructions. Also, Make sure your furnace filter is clean. If this does not help then there are some other things to check which may need to be done by a technician depending on your mechanical aptitude. Hope this helps!
