turn off the printer and remove power to the printer. Job will be stored in printers memory. Go to p.c you printed from and check printer queue see if job is in printer queue on p.c as well and then delete from queue. If it does not delete from the queue go to if windows p.c the services under control panel and stop and restart the spooler service.if print job is stuck in the printer queue.

Hi... this is really annoying... we have two computers in the office, one of them has XP and my laptop has Windows 7 (32-bit)... I was able to set up drivers for both our machines for our HP LASERJET 1000...

Hi,

I had an issue like that some 6 months ago, and tried connecting several HP printers to my win7 PC.
The only thing that worked was to install the HP Universal print driver 5.0.1 (I believe that was the version) and then re-add the local printer as local.

The driver will ad another printer Icon called HP Universal printer, but ignore that.

You can also try downloading the latest UPD, from here:

Hope this helps.

Key is flashing. Internet blue light is on. Printer gets signal for print job but won't print until I USB connect it to my Macbook OS 10.6.

Hi,

Follow the steps below to resolve the issue

The print queue and Dock printer icon
When you start a print job, you will see your printer icon appear in your Dock. Click the Printer icon to open the print queue, which is a list of print jobs that are printing, on hold, or paused. The print queue will also display messages sent from the printer.
You can alternatively open the print queue from the Print & Fax pane of System Preferences.

  3. Job Info - Shows details of the selected print job, such as job name, status, Completed, Job Message, and so forth.

From the Print Queue menu bar, the "Printer" menu has these additional options:

How to i clear the queue with jobs waiting to print when the printer says printing but is not printing

Try pressing cancel on the printer first. Then, open the print queue by opening the printers folder, and double-clicking the printer icon for your printer. Try to select the jobs there and cancel them. If that doesn't work, turn off the printer, and wait for the title bar of the print queue to say "use printer offline". If it doesn't change on the title bar of the queue, then select "use printer offline" from the file menu of the print queue. Then try to delete the print job. If this still doesn't work, leave the printer off and reboot the computer, then try to delete the print job again if it is still in the queue. If none of these work, remove and then reinstall the printer as a last resort.

How to access print queue

You can find the print queue going to Start-Settings-Printer and Faxes, Open printer and faxes by clicking and You will find the printers installed. Select your printer probably the one which has tick mark on it ( default printer) double click to open and see the files in queue. You can delete the queue if printing stucked.

Other way to delete the printing queue if not getting deleted from the above method is to go to start-.>run type "services.msc"
search for print spooler service in the rights side pane, right click the service and stop it. Now again go to Start->run type
"spool" and hit enter. It will open up folder for you, double click on PRINTER folder and delete all the files in that folder. This will clear up the queue from printer. After deleting all files, go to again follow the same process to start the print spooler service. Go to start->run-> type "Services.msc" hit enter, on the right side pane search for printer spooler service, right click and start the service.

Hope this helps

Print Jobs remaining in printer memory indefinitely?

Take the printer back to her house, go to the printer controls, check the printer docs on cue (to see if there are any) and assure her that everything is OK. Tell her what happened, how it happened, and assure her that it cant happen again. This should put her at ease.
