I have this kitchenaid coffee grinder which seems to have a part missing at the very top of the motor shaft which has threads on the end of it. I was given this unit not working and I was able to tear it down and repair the motor. Now it works but I think there should be something at the end of the shaft. The model at the bottom is 4kcg200mc1 and looks just like the A-9 .

I would like to remove the plastic carafe which holds the beans to clean it. It is a burr grinder, made in Spain, and is listed as model 3045. I have removed the small disk inside which keeps the grinder protected, (or protects the customer!)
