Nasty tasting ice cubes

Change the supply line to the plastic tube line or copper. Do not use a braided plastic or metal braided line these will make the water taste bad. Changed mine to the plastic line and cured mine, no filters needed.

I am an Lg authorized tech. my company was rated the best company in the south eastern united state so i do a lot of lg work. There really isnt to much u can do for the taste of the ice. you can wash the ice maker and if that doesn't work i would have the company come back out and hopefully you will get a guy who is nice and ask him to change out the ice maker but usually if you just was it out it will solve the issue. the ice maker can be taken off fairly easy just two screw that hold it on and a ground screw under the ice maker. you also dont need to be worried about it being anything unhealthy like i said its just the ice maker taste. just try cleaning it. hope this helps

We had a new kitchen faucet put in today and the water tastes terrible now. Can we do something?

Nothing other than let the water run at 1/4 throttle in an attempt to clear the nasty tasting water from the supply lines. Let it run for maybe an hour and taste it again.

Working on the lines might have shook loose the foul taste way back up the system. I would hope an hour would clear it but it may take more.

Some cities with less than perfect water will flush their supply lines by opening fire hydrants in a certain pattern designed to shake loose deposits from inside the supply pipes. They often report that people have bad tasting water for days afterwards - perhaps in a few days you might get your relief too?

We just bought a new frigidare refrigerator with a new icemaker installed its been a week and keep dumping the cubes..terrible taste really no smell though.. any suggestions?

Do not use a metal braided line or a vinyl braided line. Get the plastic ice maker tubing and that will fix it. I learned the hard way and now ice taste great.

Freezer burn on ice-cubes

Black mould around the freezer seal is normal if it has built up over a long period of time or has stood in damp environments. Normally hot soapy water can clear this right up. The ice taste would probably be resolved by fitting or changing the water filter, and / or cleaning the ice maker module located at the top of the freezer section and any route that the ice would take. Cleaning solutions for ice makers are available you just might need to call a local engineer for some advice on where to get some in your area. Hope this helps.
