RV ac is vibrating

It is a Dometic (Duo-Therm 15,000). The unit cools well, but it is vibrating. There are no nests on the fan blade. It worked fine 3 weeks earlier.

Take a good look at fan blade for a crack in one or more, as well as turn unit on & watch for vibration , then take a look at mount bushings on all items. Also with fan off (obviously) check shaft for movement, side to side, up & down, in & out. Your gasket between roof should only be compressed approx half it's original thickness. Some manufacturers tighten them down too much and can be a source of vibration as well. Not expensive or hard to change. Don't forget blower wheel as well.

Hi,

You can install rubber pads in between the roof and the aircon base to absorb vibration. Or have it checked for balancing.

I hope this helps.

My air conditioner keeps icing up and the flow is then reduced and cooling is diminished. I was recently in a very hot area and the AC was working very hard. I'm in a more reosonable temperature now but...

Check the filters and make sure the coils are clean first. Then make sure both fans are running, the evaporator fan and condenser fan. If all of that is ok then you need to get the refrigerant charge checked.

Have a duo therm ac and the low ac and low fan not work -

Thermostat on wall, or manual controls at AC? Did it work for you on low before now? Reason I ask, is that normally they are only a 2 speed fan ( low and high) so if it's a wall thermostat and has been changed from original, perhaps it the way the thermostat is wired.

My Duo-therm Brisk-Air by Dometic rv ac wont cool.(The fan runs )

Usually just listening closely will give you a rough idea where to look for problem. When you have the fan on and switch to cool, (with temperature turned down low obviously) do you hear any type of "moaning" sounds from AC unit, or see lights in RV dim slightly indicating that compressor is trying to engage? Is the breaker tripping when compressor tries to engage? Do you hear a "click" from AC unit when switched to cool? If none of that happens, then I'd start thinking thermostat, or compressor relay. Normally if it's a faulty capacitor, the compressor will try to engage but will make a "moaning sound" and usually trip the breaker due to excess current draw. Someone experience in electrical should be able to test relays etc, but whoever does work on it, should be aware that those capacitors, as well as hydro in general are very dangerous to work with. The ("zap",- Shock) that you can experience from a capacitor or hydro, can be fatal.

Duo therm ac not working

Make sure the fan blade turns freely when off. Not bound up anywhere. Check or replace the fan motor capacitor.

Duo-therm by dometic ac rv unit

I suspect that you have a bad selector switch for the on, off, low fan, high fan operation. If the selector switch is put into the off position everything should stop completely.
