Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. . http://electro-medical.blogspot.com/ In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.
Before going further; try a hard reset first. If it does not help you, replace the main digital board. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; visit the site linked here.....

I have a Sanyo dp42740 plasma TV , the green light on front comes on for about 2 seconds and goes off. what is it?

Hi Gray,
Please try giving 13V from external source. When we exhaust all the options of changing boards we try such things to get the set working. I hope it helps.
Good luck

Why does the Sanyo tv have a flashing green light and not turn on?

This is because the blown power board will get power to light the LED but not enough to operate the picture and sound. Check that the caps on this board are blown, and replace with exact parts. The fix can be $10.

Green light comes on no picmor sound

Hello Afox5, hi, make sure that there are no user controls or setup that are out of order. as a backgrounder, TV of this type mostly has two boards, power supply and main board. On the power supply board, this has two section, primary that deals with mains voltage and secondary that deals with TV supply current requirements, if you see green light mean that power on the secondary section of the power supply board of your TV is working, but it does not mean that the power supplied to the main board is correct, the supplied current produced by the power supply section to the main board that controls sound and picture needs to be checked, so voltages are needed to be checked and loose wiring, or screws needs tightening, are a common trouble, but some go to extremes like replacement of any boards.

Hello my Sanyo dp42849 42 inch has no picture and no sound. when i turn on the tv a green light in the bottom right hand corner comes on and occasionally flashes off and then back on.

First, you need to know the sub-model of your TV.

It is called "chassis" and is shown on the back of the TV on the label where the model number is shown.

For example it can be "P42849-00" or "P42849-01".

Then search at www.coppelltvrepair.com/search or just go to www.coppelltvrepair.com and enter the link for SANYO DP SERIES to search for that.

Here's an example of a repair service (note it may NOT be the one for your exact model though!):

Hope this helps!

When I turn my Sanyo DP37647 TV on the green light comes on but there is no picture or sound.

When there is neither picture nor sound you're likely in need of a service or replacement of the main board.

Service is usually the way to go as replacement is unable to find or too darn expensive, at least in the past year or so.

The typical indication of this problm is that the front light doesn't just stay green, but actually blinks for a second every 15-20 seconds.

If it does that you're definitely in for service.

The DP37647 model isn't listed there as we're planning to post about it in a separate article...however it has the same symptoms as some of the others.

If you want to send the board in for repair , shipping instructions can be found at http://www.coppelltvrepair.com .

It really isn't a simple DIY service like a fuse or capacitor replacement.
