TV turns on then off no picture

About 3 days ago I went to turn my TV on and the screen was blank. I turned it on and off several times and got it to finally come back on. The next day it did the same thing. I turned it on and off several times and finally got a picture but it was wavy. It went dark and came back on and then went dark for good. The green light on the power button went out and would not stay on. I can turn it on and the power button will get a green light for a few seconds and then turn off, there is not a picture at all. I have tried to trouble shoot. I have unplugged it overnight and I still get the same result. I would appreciate any help you could give me. With remote click on, green light turns on momentarily and turns off. It cycles on momentarily and off agin two more timed by itself. I have had to try turning it on several times with the same thing happening and finaaly it may turn onn and stay on. At first it has vertical wavy lines but they clear up soon. The picture is fine afterwards until turned off. The problem occurs everytime I try to turn it on. I have tried disconnecting it for several hours to no avail

After 11 years???? OMG This set is a tired pup and should be put to reast. My experience with older sets and your complains are all capacitor problems and is only gonna get worse as the first time around repair will take several capacitors to repair. This set has no user serviceable parts inside so you should not attempt a repair suchj as this on your own.. This repair if you decide to go through the first time will be About 300 to 600 bucks the first time and cost will continue to raise till the sets put to sleep. Good luck
