Question about Siemens Washing Machines

1 Answer

We have a 2007 Siemens washer. It has started throwing out the circuit breaker during the spin cycle; turning the drum by hand the bearings sound rough, is this the likely cause?

Siemens WXL148A washing machine purchased in 2007. If this is the problem is it worth repairing given the age (cost?), if not the likely cause what else could cause the problem and, again, is it worth repairing?

The only to diagnose the problem properly is to get in a technician to find out why it is throwing circuit breakers
that is a short or insulation problem
bad bearings may be overloading a low performance motor so see what he has to say and then decide
at seven years , parts will be getting scarce for the machine so a new unit is an option to be considered

Is it worth repairing and where can i get it repaired

if it has a short and smells burnt a replacement will probably be more cost efficient since diagnostic and repair will cost about or more than a new one

Is it worth fixingwashing machine leaking oil

It depends on the age of the machine.
You would need to know how much parts and labor would cost compared to the value of the machine. It could easily cost more than the machine is worth to repair.

Kenmore front loading washer leaves black marks over entire load of laundry

Odds are that if you have your Kenmore washer "looked at" the conclusion will be the same. As for the repair or replace issue, you will have to weigh the age of the machine, the cost of repairs already made or contemplated, and the cost of a replacement.

When it gets to the spin cycle it amps out and pops the breaker

Sounds like u need to change belt. Also check to see if the drum spins freely. If resistance on drum see why.

I have an Ariston Margherita (secondhand) washer/dryer, probably some 14 years old. It washes fine, but the dryer tries to work, but the drum no longer rotates. Is it worth trying to fix it, or shou

Given the age of the unit, I'd price newer ones, both at stores and secondhand on Craigslist, then go to Google Shopping or your local appliance-repair place and get a cost estimate for the drum belt and the motor. Whichever costs less, that's your best option. (It'll probably be a secondhand-but-still-newish one on Craigslist, as Ariston parts are getting really pricy nowadays.)

Kitchenaid Superba dishwasher getting louder in wash cycle

The bearings in the wash motor can wear and cause the machine to get louder, They can be replaced but it depends on the age of the machine if it's worth repairing or not.

Spin cycle trips house circuit breaker on my GE top loading washer

The very likely reason the breaker trips only on spin is because the tub bearing is locked up on the washer since it is locked up its causing way excessive friction at the motor which causes the breaker to trip. Can you rotate the tub by hand or does it seem really hard to rotate by hand indicating that the tub is ceased up due to the tub bearing??

I'm an knowledgeable owner and have helped many owners across 4 different forums save their $1K machine at reasonable cost. If you want to DIY I will help at this forum........ Google this ""FAV6800A/FAV9800A Outer Tub bearing replacement"" read thru the post and see if this is for you or someone that can help you DIY the work..............Good Luck dh1200s
