When should an employee be paid overtime in California?

The California labor code provides multiple ways for workers to earn overtime. In California, overtime is paid when work performed by an employee in excess of 8 hours in one work day, or in excess of 40 hours in one work week, along with the first 8 hours worked on the seventh consecutive day of any one workweek. To know more about the overtime law, you can refer Overtime California.

Light comes on but nothing works

The laser pickup is the problem, overtime the laser becomes weaker until it can not read discs, the second thing I run into is the pladder motor that cd sits on stops working. The only option is clean the laser lens with a Q-Tip and rubbing alcohol, if this fails! the unit must be replaced because the cost of repair will exceed what the item is worth.

Bosch TS2000 and the blade won't move to lower or rise

problem was solved by our handy man he replaced a washer and used candle wax to lubricate the part and it seems to have done the trick. I am still however looking for a manual for the Bosch TS2000 table saw as my husband has miss placed it. I guess I would address the Bosch company for that.
Thank you
Linda

Bad color, faded out picture

Hello emtzer, Typically, overtime your tv will become out of tune.
The way a display TV works is by shooting electromagnetic pluses through a vacuum guided by variations of magnetic stability.
What that means is overtime magnets tend to wear down thus resulting in a repairman call. Unless you are a expert in the field of tv repair i would also suggest for you to call them up and have them come fix it again. Although, though experiences and a budget, if you are able to upgrade to a LCD flatscreen I say do it. It will save money in electricity and the hassle of someone having to come fix your display.
Please post what you do and how you did it. I look forward to your posts.

Excel argument

If I understand correctly, you want to figure the normal wages at 40 hours and less. If there is more then 40 hours, calculate the normal 40 hours, then calculate the hours overtime (time and a half) and add them to get a total.

B5 columns are filled with this:
=IF(A5>$B$1,($B$2*$B$1)+((A5-$B$1)*($B$3)),A5*$B$2)

NOTE: The $ sign doesn't refer to money, it refers to an absolute reference so when copying a formula, the cell references with a $ sign are fixed and don't adjust according to the relative position to where it's being pasted.

Please rate as FixYa! or ask please clarify. ThankYa!
