Question about Xerox Phaser 8200 Laser Printer
The printer has a built-in cleaning routine that you can access from the front panel menu, but it sounds to me like it may be more severe. I suspect you have a clogged print head. You may as well try the cleaning first, since that's free: Navigate through the menu to Support, Improve Print Quality, Eliminate Light Stripes. You may try this up to three times to see if it improves. If not, and if you're reasonably handy, you can probably replace the print head yourself.
