SOURCE: Whirlpool washer overflow during wash cycle

What you can try is to get the machine empty and remove the hose that connects the pressure hose to the switch and blow air through it to make sure it is clear, then tap on the nozzle where the hose connects on the switch to make sure it is also clear.

SOURCE: whirpool washer wont agitate or stop filing with water

If that didn't work there is another possible solution... I had the same problem... and since I am cheap I like to make sure I try everything I can before buying parts... so heres what you do...

-Remove the front panel off the washing machine.
-Look on the side of the tub for where the pressure hose attaches to the base of it.
-Check for a build up of gunk in the hose near where the tube meets the tub... you'll probably notice wht looks like mildew... usually you can just pull it apart.
-I used pipe cleaners to clean out the end of the tube (you can usually unattach from both ends to make it wasier to work on)
-Now before you put it back together grab a can of compressed air and use it to blow down into where the hose connects (as there is usually a build up there too).
-Reassemble... TADA... if that fixed it you just saved yourself some $$$.

Improperly installed thrust bearing kit. Too many washers cause the basket to spin during agitation.

My Kitchen Aid Dishwasher model # KUDS40FVSS0 has blinking cancel, sani-rinse and normal wash lights. It will not run at all. We replace the control board and still nothing. Please Help!!!

I have had this problem. Mine didn't work for over a week and by the time the repair man came over to 'replace the board' it suddenly worked. The guy told me that if you use ANY type of liquid dishwashing soap (for your sink) and any residue/bubble is on the dishes, it can cause your dishwasher to break. I have no idea why but I've been really careful to make sure I wasn't using dish soap prior to putting them in the washer.

I've had 3 service calls on this dishwasher since I purchased it 3 years ago. I'm having similar service issues with my Kitchen Aid Fridge. And of course no help from Kitchen Aid.

My kitchenaid washer is not agitating normally, barely agitates and I'm looking for a manual for my model KAWE900TAL0, is there one available?

Repair manuals are indeed available but are $15-20 and take a average of 2 weeks to arrive. However bing very experienced in all brand of the Whirlpool washer which makes the Kitchen Aid brand,i believe 1of 2 things will cause that.
Firstly if it agitates on the lower portion and its just the upper barrel of the agitator that isn't working plus it also spins the water out normally and the clothes dont come out dripping wet,its going to be the parts in the upper agitator called the dogs because they appear to look like dog paws, are wore out and not catching. I have included 2 youtube videos showing step by step how to replace the dogs and the part ill talk about in a minute. The dogs could be replaced seperatly or the kit as shown in the video, ill give you part numbers at the end of the email.

The other thing it could be espically if it doesnt agitate at all AND also doesnt spin well leaving the clothes dripping wet when removing them to the dryer.will be a broken motor coupler and i have included a video for replacing that as well

The part that it turns out to be could be purchased at your appliance parts store or on there at REPAIRCLINIC.COM or elsewhere on line at;
appliancepartspros dog replacement video motor coupler video

dogs alone 80040
complete dog kit 285811
motor coupler 285753A

Good luck,i hope i have been able to help you fix your washer,

Kenmore 90 series 11026912690, agitator makes loud noise

If the problem is just the agitator not working, but everything else does, you may just have a worn agitator cam assembly, worn agitator dogs, loose agitator bolt, or all of the above. The following link explains what agitator dogs are and how to access them:

Whirlpool manufactured washers (such as Kenmore) use a split agitator design. The top half is known as the "auger, while the lower half is the agitator. Between the two pieces is a cam assembly, with small teflon teeth known as "dogs". There's also an agitator bolt that holds the entire assembly to the center post.

If the auger (top half of the agitator) is slipping, I would suspect the dogs or cam assembly need to be replaced. The part number for the dogs is included in the link I provided. For a little more you can purchase the entire cam assembly which includes the dogs, the cam, the cam seal and thrust bearing.

If the entire agitator appears loose or slipping, check the agitator bolt to ensure it is tight. DO NOT overtighten as this can restrict movement of the agitator or damage it. Tighten until snug.

Replacement parts (if required) can be purchased at any of the following websites:

All these sites are reputable and offer great service with competitive pricing, so shop and compare. The first three sites I listed also include helpful exploded view parts diagrams to assist you in locating and properly identifying the parts you need. If you do not wish to order parts on line, use the part numbers from the Sears website and go to your nearest appliance parts retailer. These parts are commonly sold as part of their in-store inventory.

NOTE: Other causes can include a broken motor coupling, bad gearcase (transmission), or worn clutch assembly. It does not sound like the problem is associated with any of these components however.

If the motor coupling were bad, the washer would not spin at all (whether you held the agitator or not), but would still have the ability to drain.

If the gearcase (transmission) were bad, the washer would either not spin, or may spin with assistance (meaning, if you gave the drum a spin by hand to get it started).

If the clutch were bad, the symptoms would be similiar to that of the gearcase and the tub would probably also have problems stopping.

This problem sounds like it may only be associated with an agitator that could be loose, causing an off balance tub. Read through the information provided and let me know if you have any questions. I hope this is helpful to you.

I think that you have a bad drive block. It is located under the inner tub and the agitator. It is a pretty intense repair if you have never replaced one.
