SOURCE: no picture on hdmi2
First of all connect the Direct TV box to HDMI 2 and see if it works there. If it does then the next step is to connect the DVD player to HDMI and see if it wors there. If not then connect the DVD player to the TV using the component inputs and if the DVD player works on those. If it does then maybe the HDMI interface in the DVD player no longer works as it needs to communicate with the TV.

Hey there -
I'm using a Vizio GV42LF and I seem to have fixed the problem.
I just worked with the settings, and actually used the Help feature on the remote which helps you sort out the input select issues; I was surprised, but the step by step, "Is the TV on...yes or no", "Is the TV on HDMI1...yes or no", actually fixed the issue.
Now I have volume control on the TV, and can select channels on the set top box, or switch to my HTPC and stereo etc.
The remote itself I find a little cheap; compared to the Vizio remote, it's amazing how hard you have to push the buttons. The Vizio has "soft" buttons whereas the Log. is HARD to press, BUT maybe this is good if you have a little one running around like a madman.

When not using the remote control for a long period of time, remove the batteries. Do not take the batteries apart, heat them, or throw them into a fire. Do not subject the remote control to undue physical stress, such as striking or dropping it. Do not attempt to clean the remote control with a volatile solvent. Wipe it with a clean, damp cloth.
Precautionary Tips for Inserting the Batteries: Only use the specified AA batteries. Do not mix new and old batteries. This may result in cracking or leakage that may pose a fire risk or lead to personal injury. Inserting the batteries incorrectly may also result in cracking or leakage that may pose a fire risk or lead to personal injury. Dispose of the batteries in accordance with local laws and regulations. Keep the batteries away form children and pets.

i think logitek is complicating home entertainment with the notion of simplifying the quantity of remotes/devices people have. use the remotes that came with the device. its a lot of cash for a remote that causes so much frustration and complications. so we feel it is necessary to pursue the idea of One Holy Remote. Save yourself the headache, get rid of that nightmare and use the two or three remotes that came with your stuff. everytime i see one of those remotes in my customers hands, i think oh god not another one.
