Battery won't charge

So put the old power cord back on since you say it charged the battery normally. Why did you change it if it was charging the battery? It's quite possible that the new power cord is faulty. Just because it is new does not mean it works.

Remove the battery and plug the new power cord in. Does it boot the laptop up? Are you able to function with the new power cord plugged in. If so, then your battery is more than likely dead and needs to be replaced. The battery only has a useful life and once it is completely bad it will not charge.

THE SWITCH ON IS NOT WORKING CAN YOU HELP ME TO FIX IT

The Switch ON? Are you talking about the Power Button? If so it could be that your Power Cord is bad. Some models of the Power Cord has a light on it and some laptops light up somewhere when the power cord is plugged in and working.

You might have been working off your battery and if the power cord is bad it was not charging the battery and now nothing will work because the battery is completely drained.

If the power cord is good, you might have a Static Charge Buildup. Remove the power cord and the battery, then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds put the power cord back in (not the battery, leave it out) and press the power button. If it starts booting you had a Static Charge Buildup and can put the battery back in now.

If all fails, take an ink pen and stick it inside where the power cord goes. If it is not tight then the DC Power Jack is bad and need to be repaired. This will require a complete disassembly of your laptop.

I can not find our little black box that you plug into the wall to charge by using the usb cord.... can you charge the camera through a usb cord with the nikon coolpix s4000

if you can't put batteries in it then u can charge it that way, but if you have a spot for batteries then no because all the usb is for is to take items from the device to put on computer.

How do i charge my acer laptop?

You plug the charger into the wall then if there is a light on the cord or the box it is working. Then you plug the other end of the cord into the back or side of the laptop where it fits. Next time say what laptop, please! Also, If you don't have a charger search the name of your laptop model then put charger at the end of the query and buy one, because it won't last that long without a charger.

Today my cord for my toshiba was behind my pillow and i was lying on it. and I didnt notice, but then it showed that my laptop wasnt charging did my cord just get too hot? will it work later?

The power adapter does not have a temperature sensitive device, therefore it won't stop for overheating if not in consequence of a fault.

Try leaving the power adapter unplugged for about ten minutes.
In the meanwhile also remove laptop battery and put it back.
Connect it back to AC and laptop.
Ensure that connection to laptop and power cord connection to AC adapter box are both well plugged.
Before turning on laptop leave it connected for few minutes.
If laptop still does not turn on and battery does not charge, then the AC adapter is faulty.
A further test can be done using a multimeter to read voltage on AC adapter plug.

A replacement AC adapter is not expensive and can be purchased online. Try entering in Google your Toshiba model followed by the words "power adapter".

Say it is charging but it's not

You may acually have a bad battery. I'de suggest a new battery first, if it says it's charging. The other problem could be a open connection from the battery to the power supply on the board but I'de take a close look at the battery first. Good Luck
