If the blade is mounted correctly and tight and the motor is running, the only other explanation for a failure is a stripped gear in the gear box

How to change blade on skilsaw 5380

on a circular saw
pull the power lead from the plug
using a screw driver , place the blade between the teeth and turn until the screw driver is jammed under the plate
use a ring spanner and undo the nut that holds the blade on
pull the blade out and fit the new blade with the direction arrow in the right direction
replace the plate and the bolt do the bolt up tight
rotation will tighten it up
some blades have a hole in the blade in which to insert the screw driver to hold the blade , or a lock lever behind the cover to hold the armature shaft while changing the blade

Why is my blade hitting the blade guard

Hard to say without seeing it but....wrong sized blade, bent blade, clamp missing or installed wrong, bent guard, or bent blade shaft. I'd look in that order. Hope that helps.

How do you pull the blade mount piece off the motor shaft in order to change the pully? this is on a husqvarna 5521 walk behind mower

The blade holder can be a tight fit on the crankshaft, insert the blade bolt half way and use a two leg puller to drag it off, there is nothing ese holding it other than being tight on the shaft.

I have a Superior brand slide mitre saw, quite new,but the centre nut for the blade is so tight wouldn't come loose,I used wd40,good vise grip, the nut quality is so soft, starting to wear out, even I griped...

This applies to the blade sitting to the left of the motor shaft. Try jamming a piece of 2x4 into the blade teeth, then using either a long-handle box-end wrench, or a 6-point socket fitted with a breaker bar to turn the nut by pushing down at the saw front. If the blade sits to the right of the motor shaft, then the reverse of the above should loosen the nut. However, the block of wood in the saw teeth will not help--you must freeze the blade with large 'vise-grips' at the rear of the blade and lift up on the wrench or socket. There should be a shaft lock to hold the motor shaft from turning. Good luck!

Blade change skilsaw 5150

The locking button on this saw is designed for safety. If you are attempting to change the blade it should NOT be plugged in. It sounds as if someone has pushed the lock button while the motor was running and sheared it off.
The only tool that is required to change the blade is the supplied wrench or an equivalent box end. If you cannot make the repair yourself for have the equipment repaired you can take a pair of vise grips. (Use cardboard to prevent warping or gouging the blade) and clamp the edge of the blade below the teeth. The vise grips will stop at the front of the saw as it is too large to pass by the guard allowing you to loosen the nut. Clamp the new blade in the same way only the back of the saw will be used to tighten.

I highly recommend that you either repair yourself or have the tool repaired by a professional.

Parts schematics are all over the net for this tool, here is an example:

As you can see most of the mechanical parts are only a few dollars and it could save you from serious injury during operation.

Skilsaw motor runs blade won't turn

It sounds like you bought a lemon possibly. I am thinking that the gears are bad. What you can do is remove the blade and unplug the saw. locate where the screws holding the bearing cover are and remove them to get to the gear and check it. Let me know if you need more help
