SOURCE: replacing NON Manufactored ink cartridges in EPSON PHOTOS STYLUS R380

I had the same problem, was tired of Spending $100 / refill - so I tried a set of Generics that were "Guaranteed" to work - well - they didn't. Apparently Epson changes the programming on the ROM on the actual ink cartridge - and if you buy an older generic cartridge it will not work if you have a newer printer - as the ROM coding is incorrect.

I do however, have a solution - that I found works. Continuous Ink Systems. I went to Super Jet USA ( - and purchased their continuous ink system. I think it was 60 bux and it comes with 100ml of ink in each color + 18 ml in each continuous cartridge (so 118ml in total for each color) (Regular cartridges only have 18 ml). So the equivelant of just over 6 refills... Normally - 6 sets of Epson (rip off super high price make someone rich) cartridges would cost me roughly $720.00 with taxes and what not.

This system Cost me 60 bux + shipping.

Now I am not a mathamatician, a numerologist, or anyone who things long division is fun (thats just sick) - but I dont think it takes a genius to see this is one TERRIFIC deal.

And yes - The system works PERFECTLY in my Epson R380 Printer - first try - no fuss - no muss - Extremely happy I tried this solution

NOTE: I do not work for, or am in any association with Superjetusa - I just think when you find a company that is good to deal with, delivers what they promise, and gives you a good price - then you should tell the world.

SOURCE: Epson rx580 printer

I just started calling Epson's customer service line every time. They always offered to FEDEX new ink. I got tired of waiting for it to come and began returning bad cartridges to office depot where I had bought it and found out that they will take it back if it doesn't work. Now I've decided that some (a lot) of Epson's ink cartridges for the RX580 are bad and that I just have to keep trying until I get ink cartridges that work. I had tried the qtip cleaning, checking the ink/sensor connection, and making sure I had them snapped in tight. I've finally figured out it IS the ink. BTW, I always use the ink Epson reccomends, so it is definately that many of their cartridges are faulty. It's a pain to have to return them but as long as I can return and replace them and eventually have a machine that will print when I need it to, I can live with that.

SOURCE: Ink cartridges wont accept in Epson D120 printer

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Normal 0 Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

SOURCE: Just installed Epson NX400 printer.

I found a solution to the same prolem that you guys have. I took the cartridges out and shook them horizontally, instead of vertically, with the large surface up for 3-4 seconds. Re-inserted them back in. Then I started seeing on the LCD "Recharging Cartridge". When it returned to regular copy screen, I turned the printer off and turned it back on. No more error message. It's been working for almost a day now. Try it to see if that works for you. Good Luck.

FYI. I just bought NX400 last Friday. The error message came on this morning.

SOURCE: epson rx595 cannot recognize ink cartridge

Just had this happen to me. Turned it off, turned it back on... nothing. In/out with the cartridge several times and when I blew on the contacts of the printer (where the little microchio on the cartridge touches) it finally worked. Did the blowing on the contacts help? Maybe, but more likely is that the it was just repeatedly trying to d oit before the machine figured it out.

My epson wf 2630 printer is in an error state I send documents to the printer from my laptop but nothing happens I can not get it out of an error state

If you have sent more than one document that has not printed, you need to click on the printer then see what's
in the print queue and delete all the documents that haven't printed. If documents are "hanging" in the print queue it won't print. Only one document can be in the queue at one time..

What to do with Error Code 0XF3 on my Epson WF-3620 printer?

May be a failed part or something that fell inside the printer that is jamming it.

A previous question on FIXYA for a similar error suggests two possible solutions, but unknown if they will work for you or not. If you just changed ink cartridges, remove them and reinsert them.

New setup-- doesn't recognise the ink cartridges --- correctly fitted

Did you fix the black cartridge in the black and the corresponding colours correctly? Did you make sure that you removed all the plastic covers from the cartridges? Disconnect all the cables and Switch off the printer leave it for a few minutes and reconnect the cables and switch on the printer and it should work.

How do I reset the chip on my ink cartridge for a epson wf 2540?

You're better off buying the auto reset replacement cartridges. Word of warning: Epson printers "SPY" on you and tell you that by putting in the compatibles, you will void their warranty. Second Warning: DO NOT download any Epson firmware upgrades because they will wipe the compatible chips and render them unusable. Always keep your old, used epson cartridges in case you need to reset the printer with the original chips.
