Service light on Honeywell humidifier

Sounds like a Water Level Sensor problem. Read the service manual, pages 51 and 53.

Unplug the power cord. Turn OFF water. Remove the Water Level Sensor - One screw holds down the spring clip. Remove water scale in the compartment and on the Sensor. Test Sensor with an ohm meter. If OK, reassemble and try again. If bad, replace the sensor.

If you have heavy scale buildup in the sensor compartment, you need better water filtration. Your problems are just starting. This system can be very difficult to clean thoroughly.

The Honeywell HCM-6009 humidifier unit no longer turns on. This was an abrupt change--not sure what happened. It was working fine one day, and the next day it was dead. Is there anything I can do to...

Save the time and frustration these units are hard to work on. Make sure there is power to the unit other than that throw it away and buy a new one for $100.

It sounds like your solonoid valve on the humidifier was slamming shut cause the water hammer, no call for heat, no humidifer.

Honeywell 6013i new machine will light up...

Unplug the machine and take both the water jugs off. Take the motor unit off and flip it over. Plug it into an outlet and press down the small silver contact at the bottom of the motor. When you press this down, a connection is made and the motor should turn on (Don't worry about being electrocuted, this is perfectly safe). If the motor turns on and runs at various fan speeds, you know it's not an issue with the main unit.

When looking at the base, on the left side you'll notice a plastic piece sticking up that's held down with a plastic shroud and 2 screws. This is you water level sensor. When the water level raises up, this also rises and hits the silver contact on the bottom of the motor. Make sure this isn't binding up(I suggest you clean it) I had the same issue with my HMC-6012i, lights were on at the indicated humidity level but the motor would never run. Take the unit apart, clean it out and follow my instructions. It should fire up (Mine is running right now :) )

Install HE220 HoneyWell , humidity not increasing in the house.

You can try installing the water line to your hot water if it is installed on cold line for more humidification. You should make sure your humidistat is up line 6" @least from humidifier for proper humidification measurement.
