Question about Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse
I've owned my Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 2000 and Wireless Optical Mouse 2000 for about a year now. I haven't had any problems with them up until about a week ago, when right-click mouse button stopped working. Bought new mouse (same model), but it works only with receiver it came with, but cannot connect to the original receiver that came with the set. I've tried everything-unplugging original receiver's USB connector, different sequences of connecting receiver and mouse, rebooting... New mouse worked straight out of the box with supplied receiver. Is there a possibility that the two receivers use different frequencies to connect to the same mouse model?. I mean new mouse works, but I must have two receivers on my already overcrowded desk. Any thoughts?
I would have suggested opening up your old mouse and cleaning the right click button first.
Generally, wireless devices have a connect button that finds the frequencies of the devices. On the receiver press this button, then press the button on the bottom of your new mouse. the receivers lights will stop flashing once connected.
