SOURCE: No COOL Air

A short cycling compressor signals an inadequate freon level in the system.

The freon level should be checked by a HVAC professional.

You also may have a leak in your freon system, as freon does not get consumed during the cooling cycle.

Good Luck

Sounds like the inside fan is getting worn out. Should vary in speed. Try replacing the fan and see if that fixes it. I'd bet it will. ken

You can also pull the ECM fuse out of the fuse box for 10 min with the ignition keys in the on position (engine not running) This will ensure that any residual voltage in the ECM will dissipate and will reset to default.

Yes to the Vag-com, however the OBD-II and VAGCOM standards only allow for limited diagnostics, and no adjustments to any of the ECU'S programs.

Modern lithium Ion rechargeable batteries don't slow down as they discharge, they run full appliance and then just boom they are dead. You need a new battery

get a spark tester and plug it into one of the plugs after it gets up to operating temperature. test the other one if you have good spark plugs and no spark going through the tester the coil may be breaking down. and needs to be replaced.

Remove battery leave off for a few hours. good time to give a charge on mains charger, put the battery back on. now put key in ignition and turn to number 2 and leave it on number 2 for 10min or more the light should stay solid on the theft control. turn off ignition then turn back on slowly. the light should not come back on. if it does come back on. take the radio out and check the wires to the radio you can do this while the battery is off... there is a lot of wiring problems on this model so i have found.

Keep it plugged. If it runs on batteries, keep batteries in. But do not leave them for very long periods because they will end up leaking their electrolyte.

How do you recode the radio in my 2005 vw beetle

You can run your radio a number of days and will not run the battery way down. I had a car that did that and each night when I shut the car off I disconnected one fuse and did that till the battery did not run down. It took several times and I would write down the fuse I pulled. I found something was malfunctioning in my air conditioning switch area. My mechanic replaced something and is ok now. Not saying that is your problem.

When I turn off the ignition the radio, air and lights stay on. This is running my battery down. IS there a short somewhere or what might be the problem?

The 2000 Fords should allow the radio to continue to play until you open the driver's door. The lights may stay on for 1 or 2 minutes after you leave the car (close the driver's door) depending on the lighting/security feature of your vehicle.

Your battery should be strong enough to allow these items to remain on for several minutes. If the battery weakens that quickly, you need a new battery or you need to have your charging system inspected.

I jumped started my 2007 Torrent and now the radio wont come on, nor the sound for turn signals.

Not a solution, but our torrent is doing the same thing. Periodically things like the radio, blinkers, dash lights, etc won't work. After parking the car for a while and trying again they seem to work again. This continues for about 2 weeks then the car decides not to start. After recharging the battery; a couple of days later the cycle continues again.
We thought it might be a short in the DVD player as it happened when we left the disc in, but the dealership has been unable to duplicate the issue.
Everything from updating the software on the electric seats has been done without success.

On this page is the update for setting the day light saving time function on your clock/radio. You may also have to replace the internal battery in the clock/radios to keep it working up to date. The battery usually has a three year life span. This may be shorten by power outages and leaving the radios unplugged for long periods of time. I hope this information helps you with your problem.(http://www.emersonradio.com/dst.htm) Copy this web link and paste it into the address bar of the browser. Overheat/battery drain

Hello dogwillhunt,

It is normal for a two-way radio to generate some heat, especially during extended periods of long talk time. Consumer two-way radios tend to be much more susceptible to this because they tend to be constructed out of materials that do not dissipate heat very efficiently, such as polycarbonate and plastic. Periods of heavy transmit times also use additional power, causing the radio’s batteries to run down more quickly and require replacement or recharge. Use of the display backlight feature can generate additional heat and run the unit out of battery power even more quickly.

If the radio is heating up excessively and burning through batteries (pardon the pun) in situations where you are not using the LCD backlight excessively or transmitting for long periods of time, this may be indicative of a problem with the unit that would require service, such as a short or defective component. If such is the case, I would recommend contacting the manufacturer.
