SOURCE: remote control

Is this a new condition?
Or has it operated differently in the past?

If you are connected to any kind of box (satellite for example), there is only one channel that the TV sees; usually 3 or 4.

The channel changes are limited to the box.

SOURCE: Ok, my laptops keyboard is going weird

The keyboard is retiring. The keyboards are not terribly expensive. You can obtain one from your local agent and replace it or have it replaced by them

My philips #55pp935217 will come on fine and then it will cut off 1 or 2 min later.

I am assuming the TV in question is a DLP type television - the following comments pertain to that type of Phillips or Magnvaox TV only.

Typically this problem is caused by defective or weak cooling fans in the TV. I believe on that model there are two fans - one is located under the bulb assembly and the other is located on the side of the TV case at one of the vents. If this model is like other Phillips DLP TV's you can check the fans by doing the following with your remote to access the "secret" set-up menu:

Select "source" on the remote
hit the up arrow on the remote twice
hit the down arrow on the remote twice
hit the left arrow
hit the right arrow
hit the left arrow
hit the right arrow

Once you've done the above you should see a black and white menu superimposed on the screen. Select the item that says something like "thermal status" or "thermal properties" and look at the RPM of the two fans. The speed of the fans both need to be above 1500 rpm and should be close to 2000 rpm if they are working properly. If the fan speeds are too low the TV will shut down after only a few minutes. Obviously if you are having this shut down problem you will need to go through the above process quickly to see what's going on before the TV shuts off.

Magnavox troubleshooting

This problem is typically caused by one or both of the cooling fans in the set going bad. The fans are located under the bulb housing and on the side of the set at the left vent hole. You can check the status of the fans by using your remote to access the TV's set up menu as follows:

Select "source" on the remote
hit the "up" arrow twice
hit the "down" arrow twice
hit the left arrow
hit the right arrow
hit the left arrow
hit the right arrow

At the setup menu select the item that says something like "thermal status" or "thermal properties" and look at the speed of the two fans. Properly working fans will have a speed of 1500 RPM or more - they should be close to 2000 RPM. If the fan speeds are less than 1500 RPM this will cause and overheating problem and they should be replaced.

How can I change my philips dvp4320wh from region 3 so that it can play all dvds?

- Turn on unit
- Open the loading tray fully
- Press the Setup menu button on the remote twice (not responding to the first)
- Move to Preferences in the menu using the Down arrow key (3 down)
- Press Right arrow key to enter the Preferences (might not be needed)
- Enter 1, 3, 8, 9, 3 and 1 on the remote
You will now see the current region code displayed
- Use the Up/Down arrow keys to select the region required or 0 for all regions
- Press the Ok button on the remote

They have changed the keyroll method and auto update will not work for now so you have to manually input keys everytime they change:

1. Press Menu, press OK on language settings.
2. Press 1968 TWICE on your remote.
3. Key screen will open, use the < or > button on remote to get to Nagravision screen if it is not visible.
4. Press OK on N**. Go down to key data field and enter codes for line 00 first. Use < or > arrows on remote to change numbers/letters.
5. When done press blue button to save and exit.
6. Now scroll down to second N** line and press OK.
7. Do same as above and change key data field for line 01.
8. Press blue button to save and exit.
9. Exit out all the way to view channels.

Ti 89 Titanium

The only option or keys that will work is the ENTER key and the arrow keys. Try to get your arrow key to work by arrowing down and hit enter hopefully change you to something different.
Next, if at all possible can you hit the MODE key or get into the mode. If you get into the MODE select F3 and then arrow down twice or all the way to the bottom and at APPS Desktop select 1:OFF and then hit the ENTER key. Next, What I really think you need to do is reinstall the Ti 89 OS software. To do so you would need to connect to your computer or another Ti 89 Titanium to your Ti 89 Titanium. If you have Ti connect computer software (from the Ti site) connected to your Ti 89 Titanium it might help you more in troubleshooting any further problems too. You might be able to delete corrupt files that would free your calculator up and start running better.

Try changing the settings back to factory default. Both of my surround speakers stopped working, and doing this brought them back. If your remote functions properly, it can be done by hitting this exact sequence when in the DVD mode:
Setup>Right Arrow>Right Arrow>Right Arrow>Right Arrow>Enter>Down Arrow>Down Arrow>Enter
Note: The Arrow buttons are the ones that surround the Enter button.

This is a very poorly designed system, and the remote will not work from slight angles. You must be directly in front of the unit for the best signal reception from the remote.

Try unplugging unit, wait then plug in and try. That may reset it. If using S video maybe you should try using the reg video input and see if that helps
