Question about GE Dishwashers
Doesn't appear broken. Such designs are often used as a spring clip, a spacer, a retainer or a device to provide a directional location.
Sorry I don't know how it would be assembled but as there are only a few parts there can only be a small number of combinations.

It sounds like you have a model that has a pot washer cycle that blocks water flow to those arms. What cycles are on your keypad? Sounds like you have it set or single rack wash

If you cannot just twist it so it screws back on a part was broken.
So I suggest you contact the manufacturer about this. Im sure that will be much more helpful!

SOURCE: upper spray arm broke off
I hope it did not break, only came off. I had the same problem. You have to unscrew the round part from the ceiling of the dishwasher, put the three pieces together, easy, and then screw the whole thing back. No tools needed. Top rack can stay on while working. It helps if the dishwasher is empty. If the threading is good, this should solve the problem.

Thanks for the help. Like the other guy said the "ninga star" thing unscrews and using the plastic part inside I just pop the spray arm back on. Screw it back and it works again.
