Your apple ID is your email address, or your apple @me.com email address.
Your password is the one you selected and the one you use at the app store or iStore or to collect you @me.com emails.
If you don't know these, you can just set up a new account, but you will lose anything you have in iCloud.
You may also be able to connect it to the computer you have if you installed iTunes on it and backed up to it. When you connect the ***** iPad it will ask, "would you like to Restore your data to this Device".

If you use the wrong pattern often enough, Android will ask you to login to the tablet using your Google ID and password (the one you use for Gmail and your calendar). This should allow you to access the tablet and from there you can set a new pattern.
