I would take a SWAG that the blower motor resistor is shorted to power, causing the issue.

Need to squeeze the top of the glove box together, to let the stops come past the opening, and let it drop straight down.

Who makes Heritage Ceiling fans?

unfortunatly there are many manufactures that have a "heritage" model fan ... like casablanca, minka aire, concord and emerson ... even Kmart sells a fan called Heritage (not a bad fan) ... of the above, casablanca has a high end model called "heritage" and that name is likely the domanant brand .. if you can find a model number then it can be isolated better ... .

here is info on that one

Motor burned out. Where can I find replacement

if you can identify what type and model electric motor your fan is using, visit Grainger or Harbor Freight then ask them if they can query and match your fan's electric motor model with a replacement.

Remote receiver faulty

That is correct you need a new receiver for the fan. The other problem that could have happened is when you replaced the batter in the remote you accidentally hit the dip switches and changed them. That is the box that has 4 white switches on it. One is in the remote and one is one the receiver that goes in the fan.
