Question about Tablets & eReaders
Having trouble with my kindle fire 7 tablet I just got this Christmas from my sister and brother in law. I turned it off when I was done using it on the day after Christmas. the next day when I turned it on I found special offers on the main screen .I tried to see how to get rid of them so I could enjoy the features on my device but can't get to the main screen with the apps and internet.it keeps telling me about a lock screen pin or password.i can't remember my password to get past this problem .in desperate need of any help
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I guess you're trying to eject the Kindle from the task bar "(safely remove hardware". Try going into Start/Computer/right click on Kindle/ select eject. This worked for me when I had the same problem.

Some android apps require a imei number with a phone number in order to work. Some of these apps include alternative texting apps, Google voice and others. Its not an android error, its just trying to save you from wasting time trying to get an app that will not work on your device.

On the HOME screen, tap the gear icon near the upper right corner of the screen. Tap "More..." on the menu bar. Take your choice from the menu.

Do you mean that the PIN of the SIM card is locked?
The PIN is needed to access the SIM card.
If you remove the SIM card the tablet will not ask for a PIN.
You do not need to change anything in the tablet.
(If you would insert your SIM card in a phone, the same would happen when you launch the phone.)
I hope this helps.

Testimonial: "The tablet does not have a sim card. Just a basic tablet with a number password instead of a pattern. many thanks"
Keep trying the unlock pattern. Once it rejects you it will ask you to sign in to your google account. If you don't have a google account type "null" in the user name line and "0000" for the password. I was locked out of my android phone and used this to get past the unlock pattern and back in to my phone.
