New Christmas gift. Have plugged it in and downloaded Alexa dot app in iPad. Now what?

You can just ASK Alexa! Change the Time Format on Your Echo Dot with clock. Say "Change to 24-Hour clock".

Use the Alexa app to change the time format on your device.

1. Open the Alexa app .
2. Select Devices .
3. Go to Echo & Alexa, or to All Devices.
4. Select your Echo Dot with clock device. This opens device settings.
5. Under General, select LED Display.
6. Turn 24-Hour Clock on or off.

This is a pretty great movie and music player app. Where you can use and find great ringtones.

Hi Barbara, do you have the Alexa app on your iPad? If not, you will need that. I am going to assume you have an Amazon account to link Alexa to? Once you first start the Echo it will go in to paring mode and tell you to open the Alexa app on your device to add the Echo to your account. The Echo will then attempt to join you home wireless network. The Alexa app should provide instructions on getting the Echo online. Hope this helps.

• Plug your Echo Dot into a power outlet.

Select Connect. After your device connects to your Wi-Fi network, a confirmation message appears in the app. You're now ready to use Alexa.

If you listen to amazon music through one of the amazon devices (echo-dot-fire stick....) and your Russ system supports Bluetooth connectivity just add the Russ as a Bluetooth speaker (or ask Alexa to search for new devices).

Go to Amazon and type "alexa app for mac" in the search box, it will almost certainly be the first result...

Follow the small sheet of instructions that came with the ECHO.
if you want to hear music (and other audio) in stereo, attach a separate pair of stereo speakers to the 3.5 mm jack on the back of the ECHO (I'm assuming it has one like my Echo Dot does).
you may have to push the 3.5 mm plug in hard for it to connect to both stereo channels on the cable. If you only hear sound out of your left speaker, both channels aren't connecting. Disconnect and reconnect the 3.5 mm cable a few times, being sure to push it in hard. This will loosen up the jack so that the plug connects easier and correctly.

On your iPad, open the App Store by tapping its icon.
in the search box at the top, type Alexa.
From the list provided, click the Open button next to the icon for Amazon Alexa, and follow any instructions that may follow. The icon should appear on you iPad, most likely on the last screen of icons (assuming the you have more than one screen of icons). Sweep to the left until you get to the last screen of icons to see it. Then click on the icon to open the app. When the app opens, click on the "3 horizontal bar" icon in the upper left corner. A menu will drop down. Click Settings. Then, click SET UP A NEW DEVICE , and follow the instructions.

If you want to use the app from your phone you will need to search it in you Play Store or App Store.
If you want to use it from you PC you will need to download it from Microsoft store
