Check for scratches on the disc. It won't play if it is scratched.

Unsupported format message for normal CDs

Have you tried completely powering down the system, removing the power cord from the wall socket? If not, please try that. Wait two minutes. Then plug it in and power up the system. If this does not clear the problem, contact Bose, to get the latest firmware disk. The firmware disk will reprogram your Lifestyle sound system. Then, everything should work properly.

CD WON'T PLAY BOSE SYSTEM SAYS NOT READABLE?????

I assume you have cleaned the lense and the disk can be read in another player. Either the disk is an unsupported format or the disk itself is too old to be read by that unit (some models have weaker lenses, lees tolerant at faults) .

"Bose Home thearter 321, CD's not playing "Unsupported Format"

You do not give much information to work with. However, if you purchase a stand alone DVD player (I have a personal weakness for Sony, and only went with the Bose because of their sound reputation) make sure it has either optical out or coaxial digital which you can connect to one of the inputs at the back. Just note that in the Bose settings you have to assign Optical to the input you are using if you use optical. Optical and Coaxial audio are digital so you will not compromise the sound quality much.

It is not clear what type of CDs you are playing whether they are copies or originals. If copies how are they being burnt to disc, etc?

I have used Musicmatch Jukebox for years to download and burn mp3s to a CD. I have always used CD-R CDs. All of a sudden when I go to play the CDs, they aren't compatible with the same players I've...

MUSICMATCH PROBABLY CONVERTED YOUR FILES TO A NEWER FORMAT LIKEACC OR MP4 , THE PLAYERS SOFTWARE IS NOT UPDATED ENOUGH TO PLAY THESE NEW FORMATS , CHECK YOUR MUSIC FORMATS IN AN EXPLORER WINDOW AND IT WILL TELL U WHAT FORMAT THE SONG IS. WE KNOW YOUR PLAYER WILL PLAY A WAV FORMAT, BURN A STANDARD WAV. FORMAT DISC ON THE SAME TYPE OF DISK AND IF IT PLAYS ITS THE ADVANCE FORMATS THATS YOUR PROBLEM.

Format unsupported

Format unsupported simply means the unit can not read the disc. The problem is either the disc or the player.

Contact Bose technical support if you are sure the discs are good. 800-367-4008

Not an Audio CD/Format Unsupported

Clean the CD and try again. Also, if DVD displays "not supported", call Bose and ask to recieve an update disc. These updates are released every 6 months. Document your remote control settings before loading the update as they may be erased by the update and will require re-entering settings after the update.
