Problems printing photos

Hi, God bless you. It's me Dee.
Yes I have conducted a test print. Nonetheless, it still comes out one color purple, and when I type and print out documents,it comes out pink. I have gone to my properties, to try and put it on factory settings, and nothing. I happen to own 3 other printers: Brother MFC 210C, Hp officejet pro K550, and my new Epson Stylus Photo R1900 (Ultra Chrome-Hi-Gloss) and I must say I have never had problems with either of them. I hope I can get this one fixed. I do alot of scrapbooking, so I do alot of printing. lol. Hey, I want to thank you for rendering your service. I am up for any suggestions. Check ur ink cartize. look every colour r fulfill. then u can go to printing priferance and command head cleaning. then ur printer start cleaning and want a paper for check. do that.

When I print on regular paper, the color prints look fine. When I print on photo paper, I get a consistent quarter-inch vertical orange line on the prints and the colors look washed out. Time for new...


Basics first (which you may have already considered).

Explore the Canon Printer software settings.

You need to adjust the Printing Preferences when switching from paper printing to photo paper printing.

Also look at the Print quality and colour saturation settings and try to print in Fine or High Quality when printing on photo paper

If none of the solve the problem, check if something is not stuck in the paper input tray and pressing the photo paper to close agasinst the scanner.

Make sure the paper is properly centered and cradled with the addjusble paper guide on the In Tray.

If tall new none of this works, install new cartridges and conduct Nozzle Check and Print Head Cleaning maintenance and then test print again.

Cyan ink is coming out purple. Tried putting in brand new toner but still have the same problem!

If the cyan or the blue ink is printing out in purple here's what you can do:

Clean the Printhead & Print a test page by doing the ff:

1. Press the Ink Management button press the Up or down arrow key to select Test Print, then select Print Quality press OK and press Black or Color START. Check all the colors including the black & check if there are any missing dots and if there are any colors not printing correctly.

2. Press the Ink Management button on the control panel and select cleaning press ok

3. Press the up or down arrow key to select Color press ok and press Black Start.

*After the cleaning process the printer will ask you if the quality is OK, press up or down to select yes or no, and it will ask you whether black or color is ok, once you have selected you're answer press Black or Color START to print another test page. Compare the 1st and 2nd test page if it's improving, you may need to do this 3-5 times or until you get a better quality

Since it's a brand new printer it's probably not the printer, but your set up . Not knowing what program you are printing from, I can't advise beyond that 1) check the reference for the program you are printing from about setting up your color to be compatible with your printer (look under color management). Usually it has to do with your file's color profile matching the printer profile.

You need to conduct the following steps:
Printing the Nozzle Check Pattern
The nozzle check pattern shows if each print head nozzle is operating properly.

You can also print the nozzle check pattern from your computer.
  1. Load A4- or letter-size plain paper in the Auto Sheet Feeder (ASF) or cassette.
  2. Press <Feed Switch> button to select the paper source.
  3. In either COPY, PHOTO, or FILM menu screen, press <Menu> button.
  4. Press the left or right arrow to select [Maintenance/Settings], then press <OK>.
  5. Use left or right arrow to select [Maintenance] and press <OK>.
  6. Use up or down arrow to select [Nozzle Check] and press <OK>.
  7. When prompted to print a nozzle check pattern, use the up arrow to select [Yes] and then press <OK>.

Print Head Cleaning / Head Refreshing
If the printed nozzle check pattern is broken, missing, or a specific color is not printed, clean the print head.
a. Cleaning the print head consumes a small amount of ink. Cleaning too often reduces the amount of ink in the ink tanks.
b. Print head cleaning is performed when you connect the power cord. Your machine may perform print head cleaning periodically to avoid clogging.
  1. In either COPY, PHOTO, or FILM menu screen, press <Menu> button.
  2. Press the left or right arrow to select [Maintenance/Settings], then press <OK>.
  3. Use left or right arrow to select [Maintenance] and press <OK>.
  4. Use up or down arrow to select [Print Head Cleaning] or [Head Deep Cleaning] as necessary and then press <OK>.
When prompted to clean the print head, use the up arrow to select [Yes and then press <OK>.

If normal print head cleaning does not improve print quality, perform deep print head cleaning.
Print Head Alignment in Windows
If colors mix or streaks appear in the nozzle check pattern, perform the print head alignment.
The print head alignment can be performed either automatically or manually.
If the automatic print head alignment does not resolve the problem, perform the print head alignment manually.

Won't print correct colour

Try printing a test page. If it comes out missing colors, the you color cartridge is bad. HP test pages will print each of the 3 colors by them selves, so you can see if you are getting all colors. If this prints ok, the I would think it is not a printer problem.

Print won't print correct colours

If your colors are all in the right slots, I would do a test print. This is usually done by turning the printer off and then hold the form feed button down while you turn it back on. It will go into a test print mode and print out some pages and tell you what lines should be what color and so on. If it test prints correctly, then the printer is not the problem and I would simply reload the printer driver software again since you may have gotten some sort of gliche in the software driver. Normally that will correct the problem. If the problem comes out the same in the test print pages then go through your setup procedure on the printer itself per the user manual. If the problem persists then it is a problem an input/output color processing IC on the main board and you will need to take it to a repair shop. Good Luck and God bless.

Light purple cast to black and white prints

Known issue. Use QTR to print bw prints. Works great on my Epson 2200.

Purple Color Printing in b&w mode

When you do nozzle cleaning there is a print test that canon performs. I think it prints out each color. Did the Colors come out correctly? Cuz from there I think you can determine which color is really clogged. I have the solution somewhere but I need to know if the test print comes out correctly or not.
