SOURCE: I'm having trouble getting a signal using a boost waves TV remote controlled rotating antenna. No signal

It may be too weak to receive and re-adjust external signals. Return it for refund.

We just installed an ematic edt312 outdoor rotating antenna. We cannot make it rotate, or get any reception at all. We have the antenna mounted 5 feet above our rooftop. Can you help us? .

Rotating antennas are not cheap and they have multiple connections on them for the motor and the drive box as well as the signal connection. This particular antenna was subject to being cloned and faked and you may have gotten one of those.

Ematic AT102 How do you program it to receive the cable channels when no cable box is needed?

Unfortunately, the Ematic AT102 does not have a tuner for cable television. It only has a ATSC (digital over-the-air) tuner. You need to connect it to an TV antenna and then search for channels. Depending on where you live, you may need an external antenna to get sufficient signal strength to receive local channels. See http://www.tvfool.com for signal strength information in your area.

Older cable signals are NTSC (same as analog over-the-air). Newer digital cable is QAM. (Some channels are broadcast as clear QAM which don't need a cable box with some tuners/TVs.)

To record your cable, you will need a different type of DVR/set-top box. An old VCR or DVD recorder with an NTSC tuner would work to record analog cable. There are a few ATSC converter boxes that also support clear QAM. This is one of the models: http://www.solidsignal.com/pview.asp?p=CM-7003 .

I wish that I had better news for you. Other options are available for NTSC, ATSC or QAM tuners. Please add a comment with more information about your cable service if you'd like extra information on these options.

Is the Ematic AT103B Converter Box compatible with Suddenlink cable/digital service?

No, the Ematic AT103B is an over-the-air digital ATSC tuner and will also can convert the digital signal to analog NTSC for older TV tuners. It will not work with any cable service and is for "cord-cutters". The AT103B requires an antenna to receive your local OTA channels. Depending on where you live, you may get some channels with an indoor antenna. You will get better reception with an outdoor antenna. See http://www.tvfool.com or http://www.antennaweb.org for details on the channels you can receive with an antenna pointed in a particular direction.

The Ematic set top box does provide an HD signal output and a DVR (time-shift function) so it is more advanced than the first generation OTA converter boxes. The original (available with the government coupon) converter boxes only gave an SD output.

I hope this helps.

(antennaweb.org gives a very conservative list of available channels but assumes an external antenna. tvfool.com lists the channels that are likely to be received with a variety of antenna strengths. An antenna signal amplifier can improve the reception. (Digital stations will not be seen if the tuner can't lock onto the signal.) However, when the amplifier fails, you may find some channels will not be received at all.)

Connecting to old Sanyo single RF CONNECTION plug. Not able to view menu operation program from AT103B ematic.Do I need a adapter for this old Tv for connections. Now I'm using a cable and antenna only.

If it is not a flat screen TV yes all TV signals are now digital so even if you are doing the cable and antenna thing you need a digital converter box to convert the signal from digital to analog. Not sure if they still sell them at Wal-Mart, but I am sure you can find one on-line.

I have a Magnavox tv.. and I brought a ematic AT 103B converter box.. I can only get 11-1 and 11-2 and 11-3, I did a channel search.. and still can not get other channel's.. Katrina

Usually this means that you need a different antenna or to move your antenna. If you are using an indoor antenna, you may need an external antenna. Make sure that the antenna is pointing to the transmitters. If you have an amplifier on the antenna, it may be damaged and could be blocking some frequencies. In that case, you may need to replace the antenna or the amplifier. In some places, surrounding objects can block the signal; trees and buildings are the frequent problems.

Please use http://www.tvfool.com to check where the local stations transmitters are located and the recommended antenna to receive each station. ( http://www.antennaweb.org is a similar resource but usually is too conservative in the list of available stations.)

I hope this helps.

(In my case, I point a large external antenna towards the local stations farthest away. This lets me receive those stations and the ones from closer transmitters. If the antenna rotates, I lose some local stations but may gain access to stations that are outside my area. Then I have to climb up and turn the antenna. I tried an antenna rotor but it eventually burned out.)

GE Model 20GT360 TV and digital antenna problem

Are you connected to a digtal converter or just a digital antenna? If only to an antenna then yes you will most likely pick up one or two low power UHF stations that are still able to broadcast in analog.

Poor antenna reception

That's a problem with the digital broadcasting. Signal strength is critical, and the frequencies used are more directional. Some people are finding they get no reception at all. Your antenna may not need to be higher, but aimed in a different direction. Did you have a rotator installed as well? An outside antenna really should be pointed toward the station. You might also be able to add an amplifier to the antenna to boost the signal. But get a mast-mounted version that mounts right at the antenna, not the kind that goes at the TV set.
