The end going into the clutch is splined. It is held in place by a spring clip. Carefully pull the shaft from the clutch, do not force it. If it does not snap out, you may have something stuck on the clutch side.

SOURCE: Repaired Husqvarna 41 chainsaw won't start.

Hi

The off switch of the chainsaw has to establish the continuity to kill the running engine.First check the switch with a measure apparat. Then check the continuity of the two wiring harness, sepparately. One wire is atached to the ignition module with a screw and goes to the off position of the switch. The other one towards the on position of the switch.Check the spring!

Take chain off, look for bent or broken teeth. Check chain grove, look for broken or embedded pieces, clean and oil well. If not, it's motor problem

Model 55 ignition module gap

Turn the flywheel magnets just under the module poles, insert a thin business card into the pole gaps, and allow the module to contact the magnets. Tighten the module screws and rotate the flywheel somewhat to release the card. Finally, turn the flywheel one full turn to make sure the pole gaps don't close further. Hope this helps!

HUSQVARNA 1998 365 CHAINSAW WON'T START. PLUG WON'T FIRE.

I assume that you have already tried a new plug (gapped 0.020") with no results. Remove the left case cover to expose the flywheel and ignition module. Remove the ignition switch wire from the module (not the one tied to the module metal frame), and try for spark again. Check the module pole gap with the flywheel magnets just under the module poles using a thin business card for a gap gauge. Insert the card and loosen the module mounting screws to allow the module to contact the magnets, tighten the screws, and turn the flywheel somewhat to release the card. Turn the flywheel one full turn to make sure the pole gap doesn't close up. Test for spark again--if still nothing, replace the module using the same gap method. Hope this helps!

My husqvarna 51 will not idle after cylinder replacement

Did it receive a new piston and rings at the same time? Is the carburetor firmly mounted to the cylinder? Check for muffler plugging. Did you make any adjustments to the carburetor jets? Try turning the idle-speed-screw CW a turn or two. Are you running fresh fuel mix? If the ignition module was removed, set the pole gap with a thin business card and have the magnets under the pole pieces. Hope some of this helps!
