If the needle is hitting the needle plate or somewhere in the bobbin area, most likely the needle bar is out of position or the machine could be out of time. In either case, you will probably need to take it for service.

Normally because it is out of synchronisation. Or, you are using the wrong needle, or have it in the slot incorrectly. You need to take it for service.

I have a sewing machine Singer 2263. The needle seems to be slightly to the right of the center of the presser foot. Is there any way to adjust this. It has always been like this sense it was purchased.

If the needle does not hit anything then leave it as is. It is quite difficult to adjust, unles perhaps you have a dial or control to set the Zig Zag positon. Suggest if you don't have a sewing problem just leave it alone.

How do I just the tension on my Singer 621B sewing machine?

The usual reason is that the machine is misthreaded, or that there is a rough spot somewhere on the thread path, or you've got cheap thread. Here's the manual for your machine, assuming you've got a 2263 (621B does not look like a Singer model number): http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/1180_2263%28eng_spa_fre%29.pdf If you do have a different model, look for the manual here: http://www.singerco.com/support/instruction-manuals

Take all the thread off of/out of the machine and clean it per the manual instructions. Put in a new needle, right way around and fully up in the needle clamp. Rethread from scratch, with the upper tension set to 3 and the presser foot raised while you are threading. (see also: http://www.picturetrail.com/sfx/album/view/22521551 )
Make sure your thread isn't making extra loops around any of the points it passes through while threading, and is not catching on the spool or the storage notch that's on the bottom of some thread spools.

If that doesn't improve things, try again with a second new needle (the most common spot for a snag is the eye), and also wrap a piece of slick fabric around the pad of your index finger and pull it tight. Feel each eye the thread goes through, the presser foot (top and bottom), the needle plate (=throat plate), the sewing hook and bobbin case. If you find snaggly spots, they can be gently polished out with crocus cloth.

Oh yes, buy good thread. The cheapie stuff is normally just garbage.

Singer 2263 needle hitting something in bobbin area (loud thunk) and needle moves

try taking the bobbin out and putting it back in the bobbin
case if it's a top loading bobbin
if it's a side or front loading bobbin make sure the bobbin case is
inserted correctly
if the bobbin and bobbin case are inserted correctly then
it sounds like the sewing machine could have a timing
problem and needs to be checked at a sewing machine shop

clean under the needle plate & in the bobbin area for lint

Singer 2263 instruction manual does not show where to lubricate or how to adjust the hook which keep jamming

First make sure that the needle is fully up. Then you need to open the hinged front cover and unscrew the needle plate screws. Remove the bobbin. Brush out any lint now. Remove the bobbin case. Then snap the hook retaining arms outwards. Remove the hook cover and hook. Put no more than 2 drops of sewing machine oil on the the case (center right hand side). Then turn the hand wheel until the hook race is in the left position. Replace the hook and then the hook cover. Snap the hook retaining arms back into position. Replace the bobbin case and bobbin. Then replace the stitch plate.

Test the machine on a piece of waste fabric. If the hook keeps jamming, take the machine in for maintenance. The parts that may need to be replaced are the race or the shuttle hook. However without seeing the unit I do not know if there is not another problem. Some parts for the 2263 are available here: http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/singer-2263-sewing-machine-parts.aspx .

Singer has a second manual available with the oiling instructions for the 2263 here: http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/1213_oiling-2263.pdf . See the diagrams on this page for where things line up. The rest of the instruction manual is also online here: http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/1180_2263%28eng_spa_fre%29.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Needle fall down again and again not fit

Hi,Try another size/number of needle instead. Your needle is undersized to your needle clamp.
Also try to tighten the screw of the needle clamp...
Hope this may solve your problem.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for using fixya.
