Question about Dyson Vacuums
-I have washed the filter. -I have emptied the canister and checked for clogs in and around the suction ports, as well as the "screen" atop and inside the canister. -I have tried all of the attachments, same problem. -I It isn't the wand, as the intermittent on and off happens whether or not something is attached to the motor part of the vacuum.

Hi its Darran at Dyson.
Firstly check that the brush bar control on the cleaner head is in the correct position. You may have switched the brush bar off the last time you used it or the dial may hav got knocked when you vacuumed under some low furniture.
If this is in the correct position but the brush bar is still not turning, switch the machine off and remove the soleplate by turning the 3 fasteners on the base of the machine and checking for blockages and remove any threads or hairs around the brush bar.
I would recommend washing the filter if it hasnt been done for a while.
You may find it useful to follow the blockage procedure and filter washing instructions in your user guide, however if you no longer have this available you download a replacement for free via the support section on our website at www.dyson.com.
I hope that this information is useful to you.

SOURCE: My Dyson DC07 vacuum works
Hi there, it sounds like you have a blockage in the hose. I have made a video to show you how to get the hose off and linked it to this answer. It is possible to split the hose in places trying to get the blockage out so try not to be rough. If you do damage the hose you will need to buy a new DC07 hose it is a waste of time trying to repair. If this was a helpful answer please take a moment to rate it or leave a testimonial.

SOURCE: my dyson 15 wont turn on
Your DC15 is fitted with a safety device which shuts the cleaner down if it starts to overheat. This will usually be due to a blockage - the filter may also need a wash. The easiest way to check the cleaner for any blockages is to follow the steps shown in our online support guide:
In normal use, the filter needs washing at least once every 3-6 months. Use cold water without detergent, and allow at least 12 hours for the filter to dry completely before replacing it. For further guidance on doing this, please see the video below.
Once the cleaner has been allowed to cool down for at least an hour, you should be able to restart it - and by washing the filter and clearing any blockages, you can prevent the issue from reoccurring.
