SOURCE: pool heater Maintenance
It is vitally important that your water chemistry be maintained. Pool water that is acidic or alkaline will attack your heater's internal components in a relatively short time. A monthly (minimum) analysis by a reputable pool store will help you maintain proper water balance and extend the life of everything in your pool, be it pumps and equipment, ladders and handrails, marsite, paint or vinyl liner.

For some reason your heater is not recognising the flame when it goes on. The biggest reason for this will be small spider webs in the burner orfaces. These are on the main gas manifold where it connects to the burners. You can get a small wire and bend it to go in these orfaces but the first time you do this it will probally be easer to pull the tray and remove the orfaces from the gas line. Good luck, I hope this helps.

My boss once asked me if I could work on a Lochinvar. I told him I could pronounce it.
Chevy is a car and so is Mercedes Benz. Lochinvar is the same kind of German engineering. Quality product. Tough to find people qualified to work on one and pricey at that. Great heaters though. As far as the model I have only worked on the big ones.(commercial) I have found if you work on them one time they stay fixed.

The pressure switch is located in the front header, behind the
upper side jacket panel, above the water connections. When
required, the pressure switch can be reset with the following
1. Clean filter and skimmer.
2. Start filter pump.
3. Set digital thermostat to highest setting.
4. Turn the adjustment knob on the pressure switch clockwise
until the combustion air fan in the front control panel turns
off. Fan will not turn off if system pressure exceeds 5 PSI.
5. Slowly turn the adjustment knob counter-clockwise until the
combustion air fan turns on. Turn knob an additional ¼ turn
6. Turn filter pump off and on several times. The heater should
shut down immediately when the pump stops.
7. If the heater does not shut down immediately as the filter
pump stops, repeat steps 4, 5 and 6 until proper operation
8. Reset thermostat to desired temperature setting.
If after doing all of the above you still have the problem.... you can remove the switch and check for debris in the water passages. If you find debris remove it, reinstall the switch and repeat steps above.
- Still have the problem... Replace the switch.
