Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electro-medical.blogspot.com/ In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.
Before going further; try a hard reset first. If it does not help you, replace the main digital board. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; visit the site linked here.

Picture goes black with gray fuzzy lines ~ 1/2" apart horizontal.

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following
symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can
examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life
of your monitor or TV by several years.
Take it to a repair shop.

Samsung DLP picture keeps freezing

The problem is either the color wheel or dmd board. Both parts are expensive so I would recommend contacting a Samsung authorized repair center. You can call 1-800-samsung or go to samsung-usa.com to find a service provider.

Hi.. Sorry to hear that the Picture is freezing.. Here are some of the steps that you can try:
*Try to connect a different video source with the TV like DVD Player, Blu-ray player and check.
*If the issue persists, disconnect the power cord and reconnect to a different wall outlet without the Power surge protector.
* If the issue persists, you need to contact the nearest service center to fix this.
Yes, you were correct many LCD TVs have problems compared to this TV.
