I can confirm that replacing these 4 capacitors worked perfectly. I
work in construction so i am not a technician or anything. I did not
even have a solder iron. I have photos of the board if anyone would
like to see them. Took me about a hour to replace the 4. I had to use
(2)35volt & (2)50volt cause radio shack only had 2 of each and it
works like a charm. This TV has been in storage for 6 months until i
found this article on the problem. Cant say thanks enough!!!!!!!!!!

If the tv does all those symptoms but after some seconds the tv works and stays doing the job. THen the tv has a slow microprocessor to recognice the different resolutions or video inputs.
But if the tv cannot do anything and stay aout of signal forever. send the tv to the waranty. (no waranty? you have to use the component input instead to have digital signal reproduced

You may be able to program your cable box remote to control your TV in addition to your cable box. When they initially set up your cable box they probably left a pamphlet giving you instructions on how to program your remote. I'm not sure why you can't change the TV channels manually but this may give you a work-around.

If the TV just Flickers for a few Seconds then the Picture is Good and Stable, That is just the HDMI re-syncing often due to different signals from 480i to 1080i being broadcasted. If it continues to Flicker then check the options for Video set-up in your DTV menu. Make sure all available resolutions are checked to display or select AUTO if possible. TIP: NEVER Unplug or Plug in HDMI cables with the Power ON. This can Short out the HDMI Input leading to a Repair. Turn off All Units then plug in your cables, When ALL are in then hit the Powers.
