Question about Kenmore Washing Machines
I have a Kenmore Elite He3 (110.42822203) that has recently been givingthe infamous F02 error. The machine spins and drains perfectlynormally, but even though it appears empty, the error comes on andcycle stops.
I went through all the troubleshooting suggestionsI could find on the web. I took the lower front panel off and checkedfilter, it was clear. I checked the pump itself, and it was clear.
Itook hose from pump to drain, it was clear and not kinked. Idisconnected anyway, and cleaned out any gunk that was inside. Iwatched the pump work, and could see it pumping water through thetubing.
The next suggestion in the troubleshooting guides is toreplace the pump. This doesn't seem intuitively likely to me, as thepump appears to be pumping out the water.
I was wondering ifthere is a pressure sensor somewhere that may be off? Or, if the pumpcan need to be replaced even though it appears to functioning fine?
I would appreciate any suggestions.
I have a kenmore elite He3 washer about 4 years old that was giving me the f02 error and suds on the display screen. It would run through cycles and then stop. I would have to cancel and then start over again. I removed the cover to the bottom of the machine (below where you put your clothes in) and there is a filter compartment that I removed a pen and some fabric cleaners that my wife was using. DO NOT USE the 3n1 laundry sheets.

he F02 message is a long drain error and it may mean the pump is clogged or bad. You don't provide a lot of detail about if the water is draining out or not but the first thing to check for this error is the drain pump.
The image below shows how to access the pump and remove the filter. This may be your only problem. With the access panel removed you can also make sure the pump is running. Remember to unplug the washer before removing the access panel.
Check the pump for the F02 and make sure you're using HE detergent and there's not excessive suds.
