Question about Bosch WFMC 3200 Front Load Washer

1 Answer

Spin too hard and knock !

Hello, on my old (15 years) Bosch washer, the spin sometimes seems too "strong", all knocks and it finished to brake both the driving belt and the drain hose (hole in it) !
This machine was supposed to detect any "off balance" (it worked like this since now) :
-> Could it be this detection system that is out of order ?
-> Or could it be the 2 "shock absorbers" that have become loose and so to be changed ?

Thanks for a rapid answer if possible (the dirty cloth pile is growing !)

My Bosch WFMC 3200 went out of balance when a load of towels because too heavy. The machine nearly went through the wall and it did not shut off. Since that time even small evenly dispersed loads cause the machine to jump around and sound scary when in the spin cycle. Is there something that I can do myself without having to call in a service tech? Thanks, Henry

My machine has been very noisy for a few weeks and today I put on a cycle and the drum didn't spin at all. Any ideas, ny machine is 10 years old!!

Noise could be worn drum bearings in which case pulley would wobble knocking off belt, hence no spin......

Knocking sound in the spin cycle off balance.

The motor switch that is mounted on the motor may need replacing. The knocking could mean that the "run" winding is cutting off momentarily, and running on the "start" winding of the motor. I dont know about a 22 year old model, but in most "near modern" machines, the switch has a plastic actuator that is pushed when the motor obtains near-run speed, that plastic may be worn or the actuator part on the motor may be at fault. If you replace the motor, you usually get this switch as part of the deal.

Top loading washer will not spin

ngfam1 At your service!

Sometimes this can happen when the connector from the transmission to the drive of the agitator is broken and needs to be replaced.Similar to the drive shaft of a rear wheel drive v-8 car!

Could have sounded like a knock, knock, knock or klack, klack, klack before it happened.
OR sometimes there is no warning at all.
How old is it?
If its 9 years old or more and it's the transmission or any other expensive repair, I would then advice not to put good money into bad and cut your loses. The new machines are so energy inefficient that they can pay for them selves in only a few years!
Less water, gas, electricity, and detergent!!

If so here is a good company that's found nation wide.
A&E Factory Service
A&E has schedulers available to take appointments 24/7
And they do warranty work too, for most manufactures!

Loud knocking noise at end of spin cycle

Have you checked the wire harness ,because the tapping of just 2 wires hitting the cabinet is overlooked alot. The noise just 2 wires makes simulates a hammer knocking inside. If the problem isn't escalating than check to see if your tub support arms are all tight. There are 12 of them.

Noisy spin dryer

make sure the washer is level.there's locking nut for each legs sometimes thy become loose and the unit becomes unlevelled after a while. Level the unit side to side and front to back and relock the nuts by tightning it against the bottom frame. If thats not the problem, run it on spin only with no load and see if it would do the same if it does'nt then your problem could just be improper loading. make sure you have enough load to cover the drum when it spins.Other wise you may have shock/spring problem but very unlikely
