Question about Vanguard Heating & Cooling

What is causing my eyes and nose to burn?

I have a Vanguard three burner infrared floor model heater. This year I blew it out with the CleanSafe Dust Remover Canned air as I usually do. After a while with heater on, and being in the room, my eyes and nose start burning. Never has happened before.

SOURCE: Heater Burner ignites but main blower motor will not turn on.

it sound like the blower motor may be seizing up. try spining the blade by hand to see if it feels free or not. the motor could be trying to turn but can then tripping itself out on overload. (most motors have built in safety overloads which will trip during an overcurrant event. aka too many amps.) you may have to replace blower motor

SOURCE: flame burns to high

I had this problem. From using the center brick most of the time, lots of dust bunnies build up in the gas chimney behind the brick.
Tie 2 pipe cleaners together with a small perpendicular circle at the top and carefully remove the dust bit by bit by twirling the cleaner.
The brick should fire like new if it is carefully cleaned out.

SOURCE: My grill burners burn unevenly and usually too high. Adjustment?

If this is a natural gas grill, check to see if it has a regulator on the gas line. If it does not, you can install a regulator to reduce the gas flow.

Why is the right side of the heater flame higher and hotter then the left side

Combustion needs air mix in the correct proportion to burn efficiently-also gas supply may be stronger on the outlet side of burner causing an imbalance-chech for obstruction in either area-cheers Denny

Our 15 yr old propane Vanguard heater was put into use 3 days ago, and has worked properly. Today it lit up after starting the pilot light this am and we left it on about three hours. We turnd it off...

If the heater has been cleaned annual or before you put it back in service this season, the Oxygen Depletion Sensor ODS) may be clogged with dust, lint and/or pet hair. So the sensor is reading it as not enough oxygen in the room for safe operation. Also, the Thermocouple may be loose where it screws into the control valve. In either case, you can solve the problem yourself, if you feel comfortable with dismantling the heater cabinet to get to all the inner workings?

Hopefully, after 15 years, you still have your Owners Manual, which can walk you through dismantling the heater. If you don't have it go to deasatech.com/wallheaters.htm find the Model Number of your heater and you can download & print it. Also, it will tell what and how to clean it. I highly recommed that you have a vacuum cleaner (a shop vac works well) that has a hose and brush attachment and some canned compressed air with a straw nozzle (like you clean your computer with) to help expedite the cleaning process.

if you have any further questions concerning the cleaning, feel free to email me at americanhearthandhome1@yahoo.com

I have a vanguard propane wall heater, 5 burners Model#vp2600c that the two middle burners flame goes above the burners and now has started to burn through at the top, what all parts do i need to replace?

The burner and anything else that was damaged. You might want to get the advice of a local professional. Remember, this thing runs INSIDE your home, where you live, eat and sleep. You want it to be safe, my friend.

2600c burners shoot flame too high

The holes in the burner or the burner itsef could burst at the seam have you checked that? Dust in the grates can cause it too have you blown it out?

I turned my propane fireplace on and it set my smoke alarm off. We have lived here for three years and never had this problem before. Please advise.

check to see if the flame is pure blue. if not you have incomplete combustion letting CO or CO2 into the room. The flame will look yellow if this is the case. An orange flame indicates dust and dirt around the burner assembly. If it is yellow, the should be 1-2 set screws on the back of the burner assembly that will let you adjust the primary air being mixed with the propane.Adjust until you get blue flame and tighten set screws.

I have reddy pro 100 lp gas heater when i run it within afew minuets my eyes nose and throat burn. ia'm using a 20#cylinder the flame is pretty much blue

are you using it in a closed room? you should be using it where there is air circulation. what's happening is the heater is using up oxygen and is producing carbon monoxide which is poisonous and if you are not careful IT WILL KILL YOU!

Burner keeps going out

It might be the ODS Pilot Assembly. It could be clogged with dust or lint.
It might be low gas pressure.
It could also be the pressure regulator.
