Question about Sewing Machines

Starting with 12 sts I am to work the following row: K2, ywfd, (yrn) twice, p1,yrn, p2tog, k4, yfwd, k2tog, k1. 14 sts. The 2nd and 3rd instruction does not make sense and I result in 13 sts.

    I understand the yrn, it's when its followed or preceded by a yfwd it makes a loop round the needle instead of a st. I did persevere doing exactly as instructed and it did work and looks ok but it seems a very alien thing to do.

S1 = slip next stitch
K1 = knit one
YRN = Yarn Over (not YM!)

I am not sewing i am knitting


i usually knit until the size i want..then divide the stitches by the largest number you can get..place markers between the stitch number you came out to..do this on a knit row before decreasing so you can be prepared for the following row.once you reach the markers k2tog and knit till marker and repeat around...
