A guest accidentally pulled out a plug but one prong was left in the wall. Is this prong hot? Do I have to turn off the circuit breaker?

Dear Connsu,
Here is a lesson in such questions.
If the wall outlet has only two slots for a plug, one should be longer by a fraction of an inch that the other.
The shorter one is the "hot" one and the longer one is the "ground".
If however, there are 3 holes in each wall socket, then the "round" one is ground, as it the longer one, whilst the shorter one is "hot".
Yes, do turn of the circuit breaker to attempt any "fixing".
God bless your efforts.
P.S. Now would be an ideal time to label the circuits.

Can this blanket be washed?

Yes, but follow these instructions. In particular, do not immerse the temperature control switch , which has to be removed from the blanket. If it is permanently attached, then hand washing only is possible.

What does the light flashing on a sunbeam electric blamket controller mean and why wont the blanket heat up

The flashing red light is designed to notify you in the event that
a problem has been discovered by flashing the light on the base unit.

Before resetting the unit. First, check the blanket/mattress
pad for visual damage.
If no visual damage is found, unplug the system from wall outlet.
Check that the base unit is well connected to the module. Plug the power cord into the wall outlet. Set the base unit to "On." If the system still does not operate after two or three times trying to reset, disconnect the power cord and get it checked out by a specialist!

Sunbeam Electric Blanket blinking

I had checked the "connection" at the blanket before but after reading this I unplugged it from the wall and re-checked the plug in at the blanket. It's not flashing anymore and it seems to be working.

From Sunbeam's site:

Q: What does "FF" mean on display of my control?
A: If you have a digital control, it is designed to flash "FF" on the display to notify you that a problem may have been discovered. Gradient controls and warming throw controls use a blinking indicator light for this purpose.

Follow the instructions on the flag tag to reset the control or follow the steps below.
  • Unplug the system from wall outlet.
  • Check that the control is well connected to the module.
  • Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
  • Set the control to "on".
If the system still does not operate, disconnect the power cord and Contact Us.

My Sunbeam electric blanket controls blink when I plug the control cable into the blanket. I cannot turn the controls on or off.

Same problem, but now it is ok.  I emailed Sunbeam and was told that if my blanket was not plugged directly into a wall outlet it was not getting enough power and I needed to plug it into a wall outlet taking these steps:
1) Unplug from the surge protector/extension cord 2) Unplug from the blanket 3) Plug back into the blanket 4) Plug into a wall outlet

Electric blanket error code

My new blanket works great. Then I changed my sheets and would get the F2 problem. Very consistent after 5 tries with F2 blinking by unplugging at wall outlet and comes on with F2 blinking. Let it rest a night and still the same.

Then I unplug it at the blanket. Hmm, notice a pin was lower than the others. PUSH BACK IN FIRM and tried again. Perfect.
