They actually turn up the gain on the broadcast which makes them louder . You may have a setting under menue and sound that lets you run different sounds.
Because the Video and Audio circuits are separate, you can have one functioning when the other is disabled. If you have a manual, review the Audio section for details on various conditions that can go wrong. Some TV have setup screens that allow you to make adjustments and settings designed on your liking. Go to your TV Menu and look for Audio settings and see if that helps you get the desired results.
If you have an older style television and you have cable-then you have 2 remotes-somehow,the tv part went on mute but when you check your sound with the cable remote-it shows high level of bars which makes for confusion!Get out the old tv remote &select your menu then sound &take it off mute----You'll probably see see--sound off! Turn sound on and adjust your sound bars with same tv remote till just a bit more than 1/2 way up.That way you will not have to use cable remote to make it louder-much.In case, you forgot where you put your tv remote& only have cable one--think you can still get it off mute--byshutting down the cable part(which you have probably done several Xs by accident)---and then with cable light not coming on-right- only the tv light =try & adjust with cable remote by pressing mute button-should see MUTE go off! Then bring your cable button back into play and should be all set to go.If that does'nt work and your tv is still a tube tv might need a new part. But hope it was the simple problem.& that I managed to help you.Bye.
There is some loose solder termminal/s inside the circuit baord. You have to detect them and must resolder them by applying a little more fresh solder. The fault is with loose solder terminals itself.
The remote is dead, the CPU chip is shorted and dead. All remotes devices heavily depended on it CPU chip.Try website like Romotes.com to buy an original or very close original remote.
Come on, lets try to solve this. Take the batteries out of the remote so it can't interfere and try changing the channels and volume with the buttons on the tv. If this works then someone has spillled something onto the remote and gummed it all out. You simply need to take the remote apart and clean it out. If the buttons on the tv do th same as the remote did then yes, take it back.
Sorry it took so long to reply, to your request for help. You need to use you owners manual and go to the section on audio controls.
