Your system probably has a 'recovery partition', which you can load by pressing one of the function key when you boot your system. One manual for an asus m50 series says that you need to press the f9 key at bootup and follow instructions, though this may not work with your particular model. Of course, depending on what options your recovery software has, this may overwrite any important documents currently on your system. I'd consider booting off of a live linux cd like 'puppy linux', then use a usb drive to backup any important documents on the hard drive before 'restoring' the operating system.

How do i factory reset my asus Z7000VA?

If you mean Restore or Recovery the Laptop, Restore will restore to a date selected. A Recovery will reload Factory Settings to the day it came out of the box, if you have a Recovery Partition, you will lose ALL you data and ALL the Windows and Asus updates must be re installed. I don't know the Asus Model, Restore or Recovery, choose the correct one. You can find a user manual at Asus Support:

How to restore

Are you talking about System Restore or System Recovery (to factory settings).

System Restore allows you to set your computer back to a point an time when it was running ok by allowing you to select a Restore Point (date and time). System Restore does not delete your data, documents, music, pictures, videos or programs (unless the program was installed after the restore point you selected). Click Start/Program/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore.

System Recovery deletes everything and sets your system back to when you first purchased it. You should read the manual to see how to initiate System Recovery. Hopefully they put a recover partition on your hard drive because using cd's fail most times.

Get onlineand got to In the google search box type: "ASUSSupport" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operatingsystem when requested. Look for Manuals and search them for System Recovery or Restore Factory Settings.
Below is a link to ASUS's instructions on running the System Recovery.

Is there a way of restoring my asus laptop back to its factory settings?

Restart your computer and press F9 key when the computer is starting up.

On some computer you can press the F4 key and you will be able to activate the partition that is set inactive. After that your computer will restart and you can restore the system as you like. But the condition of course is that the drive is not corrupted which in that case means you will have to get the CD or the download your drivers.

Get the adabtor that can take the headset output and convert it to compatible connections for your sound system. I believe your sound system uses the RCA phono plug type connections.

Places like Radio Shack should be able to help you with what you need.
