Yahoo Account Key vs Two-Step Verification?

There is a great deal of difference between Yahoo account key and that of 2 step verification. While account key is designed to reduce your dependence on password, the 2SV or two-step verification plays a pivotal role in enhancing the overall security.
Let's Look at the overall difference.

Yahoo Account Key

With Yahoo account key, it becomes largely possible for you to access the inbox, for which there is no need to utilize any conventional password. However, you will need a smartphone with Yahoo mail app, installed on the device. When you enable the account key, it then sends a notification to your smartphone. Once you approve, you can straightaway access the account.

2 Step Verification

As far as 2 step verification is concerned, you are required to provide your phone number. On entering your phone number, you are required to confirm, whether you want the verification code through SMS or Call.

When you provide the correct phone number, you will then receive a verification code in your mobile. Make sure to enter the code and click on the verify button. From now on, every time you try to access the account, you are required to enter the verification code.

I sincerely hope the answers does provide you with a basic knowledge of the difference between Yahoo account key and that of 2 step verification.

My 6- digit verification code

Oh, when I first saw it, the "google account" part was missing, my bad. you probably have 2-step verification turned on. The code should go to your messaging app on your cell phone. Check your cell phone. 2-step "could" lock you out, if you loose access to your secondary device, whatever it cautious using 2-step verification. It does provide added security, but you should have a backup way to get in to your account, be careful. If you don't have the cell phone that was used to set up the account, you can "try" to verify another way, there is usually a link that says something like "use another form of verification" ...but you must have 2 forms of verification. IF by some chance this is not your account, give it up, you can't get in, that's the point, to keep out predators. It's very efficient because you need the phone to get in to the account. So if you don't have the phone, it will ask you all the personal questions to prove who you are. It's rare that people who own an account, can't get in to their own account. If you don't have the information to get in to your own account, I don't know what to tell you. But try the "MORE OPTIONS" LINK ...look for it, it's there.

ok, accessing yahoo mail from two different sources often sends it into confusion so it starts asking for verification codes.
I've had this issue and ended up changing the password before it eventually let me in on multiple devices.

A google verification code was sent to me ...what do I do with it?

A verification code will be send by Google, when you have set a two time verification to your account. It will be normally send to your mobile phone. It will contain digits only. When you try to ace's your account, by entering your email address and password, the window will ask you the verification code. Just open the message that you've got from Google, and enter the digits you see there, as it is; and press 'Enter'.
It is a security measure against unauthorized log in to your account.
To turn off 2-step verification:
> Visit the Using 2-step verification page under your Google Account settings. Sign in with your username, password, and verification code if prompted.
> Click the "Turn off 2-step verification" link.
> A pop-up window will appear to confirm that you want to turn off 2-step verification. Click "OK".

Reset apple id

  1. Go to My Apple ID (, click "Manage your Apple ID", and sign in.
  2. If you have two-step turned on, you'll be asked to send a verification code to the trusted device associated with your Apple ID.
  3. In the "Apple ID and Primary Email Address section," click Edit.
  4. Enter the email address you want to use, then click Save Changes. Apple will send a verification email to that address.
  5. Open the email from Apple, then click Verify Now in the email.
  6. When the My Apple ID page opens, sign in with your renamed Apple ID.
  7. If you have two-step verification turned on, you'll be asked to send a verification code to the trusted device associated with your Apple ID.

After you see a message indicating that verification is complete, remember to update all of the features and services that you use with your Apple ID.
