I have an ASUS laptop with Windows 10 and my touchscreen has stopped working. I reloaded windows as I found the HDI driver for the touchscreen was ghosted-no luck. Still no driver for the touchscreen

Press the Windows logo key + X.

Click the little arrow next to Human Interface Devices to expand the list.

Click the touch screen driver (in my case, NextWindow Voltron Touch Screen).

Right-click, and select Disable from the list.

Click Yes on the dialog box that asks if you are sure you want to disable the touch screen driver.

When you want your touch screen to work again, follow the process above, EXCEPT when right-clicking the touch screen driver, select Enable

It's a commom problem when you upgrade to a new OS, Win 8. You have to find the Win 8 drivers. Is that the only thing? In Device Manager, search for hardware changes, locate Win 8 drivers at ASUS website.

If your Toughbook has an integrated GPS, this may be conflicting with the touchpad or touchscreen driver. You can fix this by running the GPS Registry Patch - SKIPENUM.REG, which is found in the C:\UTIL\GPS\ folder. This file can also be found by following the link below.

If you are using a GPS module that is not integrated, you should contact the manufacturer of the GPS module for a similar patch.

If you are not using a GPS module, or if the above steps do not fix your problem, re-install the touchpad and/or touchscreen drivers.

You need to go to ASUS's website and find their downloads in the support section. You need to use the chipset, touchscreen, and acpi drivers. The XP drivers will work in win vista and windows 7. You will also want to get the elantech touchpad configuration utility from them. The chipset and acpi drivers will also make your function keys work.

Go to the ASUS support page. On the left side, where it says "Download", put in U35F in the "Input model to search" entry box, and select category "All". When the page reloads, click on the "U35F" link in the primary frame. This will bring up all of the downloads, including drivers. You will be asked to pick your operating system.

There is also a U35J model in this series. There are no Windows XP drivers provided for this model. If you must run XP on this model, try either the drivers for the U35F or the Windows 7 drivers. (The F model drivers will only work if both models have the same audio and video hardware, so check the specs).

I can't provide a direct link to the drivers because you have to go through a Java script on the page to get them.
