DeLonghi Perfecta ESAM5500 when trying to make a cappucino it wont **** up the milk any ideas thanks

Had this exact problem a few times on a cleaned well maintained milk jug top with an ESAM5500M. Delonghi 'repaired' it by sending a new milk jug frothing top.

It's caused by milk fat deposits, the frother part on the milk jug may look clean but deep inside it's not. I clean mine with pipe cleaners, detergent and hot water and still it wouldn't froth.

The problem re-occurs for me every 6 months or so. You could buy the milk fat remover solution to clean it. Personally I just boil the whole milk jug frother in detergent and the again in descaling solution, that's fixed this problem twice now, although I think it will eventually corrode the 'o' rings on the frother, still cheaper than buying a new frother part each time though.

If it still doesn't work after that, the only other reason for this problem I found mention of was caused by a broken rubber seal where the milk jug fits to the machine. It's most likely to be milk fat deposits inside the frother though.

The milk frother just boils the milk and does not froth it up any more

Hold the frother arm and pull the lower section off (It is in two pieces ) With the lower part off use a chopstick or something similar to push the small plastic nozzle out from the lower section, push from the narrow end .It will come out with a click, you will probably find it is blocked with dried ?congealed milk. Leave it to soak inhot water/wash up liquid and then use a nail brush to clean it also clean inside nozzle . Press nozzle back into sleeve untill it clicks into place and replace

The wireless whisk jumps off the port shortly after starting. The container is clean, dry, and I have tried different amounts of milk; but the whisk still flips off.

If the frother is less than a year old - or even if it isn't and you buy pods regularly - call up Nespresso. They will send you out a new piece because your piece isn't magnetic enough. This happened with my friend and she had the new parts within two days.

Milk does not foam

Look at the milk frother.
Ensure there is the end of the inner nozzle poking out.
If not remove the frother insert a pen and push the inner towards the end until a click is heard.
Job done.

Frother doesn't steam strong enough

Frother might be blocked, descale unit or use a paperclip to clear the end of the frother, or depending on the model there is a small teflon piece in the top end of the frother, remove that and discard.

The milk frother is making the milk spit out of the jug and not producing any froth it used to be fantastic.

Check the end of the frother, ensure the center is protruding.
If not remove the lower end of the frother and push the center towards the end and click it into place.
This is a very common problem.

Gaggia classic -no steam from spout

I had almost the exact same thing. The fuse for your frother is out. If both the frother and the brew head won't heat, then it is your Thermal Fuse. There are two different fuses inside the machine. Take the top off, and find both fuses. Take a piece of wire and connect it to each end of the fuse. Now turn the power on. If it heats, then that is the fuse. If no results, try the other fuse. Either fuse should be cheap. My thermal fuse was $1.98. Good luck!

Contact Jura, this is a recall issue and they will replace it for free. Beats getting burned from the steam. The new part has fewer pieces and is easier to clean.

Milk is heated but doesn't produce adequate froth

Inspect the end of the frother nozzle you should see a small plastic piece protruding.
If you dont see it remove the lower half of the frother and insert a pen and push the plastic insert to the end of the frother.
A "click" should be heard when it is located correctly.
