Personally I wouldn't bother. What's the seller going to do with it?
Just e-mail them a picture of the broken record. That should be sufficient to get your money back. After all it can't be fixed.

Wurlitzer 1015 78's record tray returning without the record

It's possible that there is an issue with the mechanism that controls the return of the record tray. There could be an adjustment needed or something broken or misaligned.
Here are a few things you can try:
  1. Check for any obvious signs of damage or wear on the record tray mechanism. Look for any broken or bent parts, or any parts that seem loose or out of place.
  2. Check the alignment of the record tray. Make sure it is sitting level in the player and that it is not hitting anything on its way back down.
  3. Check the settings on the player. Some Wurlitzer models have adjustable settings that control the return of the record tray. Make sure these are set correctly.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be necessary to take the player to a professional repair technician. They can diagnose the problem more accurately and make any necessary repairs.

It has arrived with broken wing May I try to stick it and use for garden and return later for replacement? Bought from Prime arrived late and badly packaged large box but dragon in corner?

This page is not the page to make this enquiry
if you do anything to it or keep it, you accept any damage and will negate any claim for warranty or replacement
Take photos of packaging and of the broken item and inform the supplier immediately that it arrived badly packed and damaged and that you want a replacement sent immediately or a refund of the money for the item
the supplier has insurance against damage in transit so thee will be no legal objection for what you want

Record player repair

The top arm that swings over the spindle will control the automatic return. Leave the unit off. Swing the overhead holding top arm over and manually load a record. Now switch the top arm over the niddle spindle. Make sure that the switch is set for 7", 10" or 12" (45, 78, or 33). Manually place the tonearm at the start of the record and flip switch to 'play' (not reject or auto). It should play the whole record and automatically eject at the end and then shut off. Leave the arm swung over the middle after you loaded the record. Good luck. Let me know if you have any more questions.

My Teac sl-a100 record player sounds like a chipmunk

hi,
somewhere on that player is a switch for 78-45-33 rpm the speed switch look up around by the tone arm above by where the record goes, it may not be on the front. switch it to the correct record you have 45's are small. 78's are medium and 33rpms are the big records..

The 78 plays fine until it is over and then it wont the rod wont go down so the metal record holder can return to its place in the stack. it is an 1015 wurlitzer, restored original.any ideas???

The turntable shaft can just be sticky so the weight isn't enough to make it go down. If the tray is trying to return then that's ok so the shaft probably need a touch of oil.

What is required to convert 78rpm records to mp3 format?

The cartridge must have a stylus for 78rpm records. If the turntable does not have a 78 speed play it back at 45rpm. Record it and using the software you have or get one such as Audio Cleaning Lab, just select the option to convert from 45 to 78. You can then carry out any audio modifications to clean it up, then save it as an MP3.
Never use a 45/33 stylus to play a 78 and never use a 78 to play a 45/33 record.

Hi, they are not an auto start model turntable. To start lift tone arm off rest and move into position at start of record. It will automatically lift and return to rest as well as shut off at end of record. cheers john ,, Styluscity.com

I have an older 78 record, and the arm automatically returns before the recorded track is finished playing. Anyway I can bypass the auto return?

There should be some kind of screw on the arm to adjust it. You might have to experiment, or get a service manual. When adjusting, try doing it without the platter powered, by hand movement only.

Record won't retract

If it isn't making any move to retract the tray it's probably the trip switch. If you look in the back and follow the mechanics under the tone arm you'll see how it closes a switch as the arm goes to the centre of the record. Clean the switch or adjust it.

If it is half returning the tray it is the tray stack all gummed up. Use Servisol Silicon spray or have it rebuilt by someone who knows how.
