Question about LG Televison & Video

Open Question

47LW5700-UE.AUSYLHR LG TV shuts down when inputting or configuring the TV from the remote control also the video lags after it warms up. Please help. my email is bobgray@surewest

My TV does a couple of things but the most annoying are the picture stutters/lags and then jumps (as if a sync buffer was waiting for the picture to fill up the memory before it can play) after it warms up after 1-2 hrs of use. It is most noticeable on fast moving objects making the person or thing jump across the screen. The second thing is it randomly reboots and loses any presets since it was last turned on or rebooted. It mostly reboots when inputting information from the tv remote, changing settings or just telling it to scan for channels It almost always goes to factory out of box settings when it is powered up. It only rarely remembers its last settings after turning on and off. This problem may have been partly caused by me having the AC plugged into a remote controlled power strip so that I can turn on all devices associated with the TV at once, your comment here would be helpful as well. I thought that maybe a battery was holding the memory up on the main board when it was turned off and lost its brain once the power was turned back on to all devices, due to the lack of charging power. SOURCE: 42" Plasma TV Problem

same frustrating symptoms on brand new 42inch here! tv just turns itself off sometimes without warning or if changing to certain channels. leaves red light flashing for a while then red light goes away. any attempts with remote gives flashing green liht on tv. manual power off and on restarts tv but auto off again. found while manual power on keep changing channel on remote till stable picture appears. then use remote to shut down tv - solid red light indicates standby mode. then use remote to turn on again... till next time it happens. but what is technical fault??

SOURCE: set top box and remote control

My remote wasn't working until I programmed it to work with itself ... (how odd it wasn't done already).

"CBL" button and ""OK/SEL" held down simulataneously for 3 seconds ... then "001" for the Scientific Atlanta. If the unit turns off, you're in business.

If, indeed this is a polaroid clone TV, most probably the fix is a new "control board", at the cost of $400 if TV is not under warranty.

Sorry to not be of more assistance.

You need to do some more diagnosing of the problem. If you get sound and change channels take a bright flashlight and place it again the screen. Look for an image around the edge of the flashlight.
If you see an image that means the LCD controller board (TCON) is probably good.

The problem is probably one of three causes;
1) Inverter board is bad
2) CCFT (cold cathode fluorescent light) are bad.
3) Power to the inverter board is bad. You can also check the connectors.

I keep getting a pop-up screen on my 47LW5700

The TV should be set to factory defaults to clear all the system data stored. To do this, you've to enter its service mode option. If you wish to get more details about how to enter and adjust items in service mode options to LG brand TVs, check this link. Service mode entry and exit methods to several brand televisions are given in detail. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

TV will not turn on; is there an easy fix?

I had the same problem with a Poliroid tv, and it was 2 capacitors that failed on one of the boards. Any internal fuses (mine had none) will require dis-assembling the tv. If it is under warranty use it!

Need codes for Go.Video remote control

Go video remote for dvd/vcr recorder combo; you program TV by 2 digit codes. press TV power down when TV is powered on; and input 11 for JVC TV, or 03 for GE TV. You can experiment any two digit codes until TV shut down, then you have just finished programing n150b remote. This also work for all LG dvd/vcr combo recorder remote such as 6711RN203A..

KDL-32XBR6

Try resetting the TV by holding down the "up" button on the remote (with the TV powered on) and then, while you hold down the up button on the remote, hit the power button on the TV. This should do a "factory reset" which will wipe all settings in the TV. There is no reason why the TV should not "remember the last input it was on when it was ;last turned off. Also be sure that the TV is not plugged into a switched AC outlet, like the outlet on the back of the cable bix. The TV should be plugged into an output that receives power at all times.
