SOURCE: When engaging mower blades speed drops or stops

Check throttle cable at carb and make sure you have full travel. Sounds like rpm is little to low. Throttle cables are usually held in place with 1 screw and a washer. Put cable at full throttle loosen screwand pull back until throttle at carb in at full then tighten screw.

I'm getting an intermittent loud flapping sound when the AC is turned on my 2009 Smart ForTwo

Question. Is the flapping at a very fast pace that would indicate the speed of a fan blade hitting something? If so, you may be on to something there such as a misplaced gasket or something has dropped/fallen into the blower box via a vent.

If it is not that speed then see the following..

Hope I can give you some direction. Speaking from a generic sense all ac/heaters these days have a door or doors in the blower box that control air flow from the main part of the box to different positions when you ask for vent, heater, mix, defrost etc..

Most these days are operated with a small electric servo/motor and unfortunately the mostly have plastic gears that wear and can "thump-thump" as the motor cycles trying to open or close the flapper door.

Try to change the air direction from Max AC to regular ac to heater, defroster, bi-level etc all with the AC switch in the on position if you have a separate on/off switch.

Listen to the sound and see if it comes and goes with a different location of the selector switch.

One last question. Does it happen at idle or driving down the road at any particular speed?

Lets start with that and see what happens. This is interesting.

Good luck!

Polan selfpropeled mower the blade is not spinning fast enough and hardly cuts the grass

Blade speed equals engine speed. Check your carburetor and fuel pipe
Make sure you sharpen the blade with - this is more important for a good cut.

Blade revs fast, doesnt get up to speed before it binds and smokes.

Remove the belt and try to spin the blade. If it still acts that way, you need to replace the arbor bearings. If it spins easily and smoothly and has no play side to side, then the motor is the problem.

I have an Oster Golden A5 2 speed. How do I

There is a small gun-metal colored bar at the very rear, just below the back of the blade. It pushes inward, in the direction of the blade. Push it firmly in and pull up on the teeth of the blade. It should pop upward. You can then remove the blade from the tongue that it sits upon. When you want to put it back, slide the blade back on the tongue, then, WITH THE MOTOR TURNED ON, push the blade down to its seated position. It will click into place.

I just installed a Hunter five minute fan which says it is called the augusta. I have also installed several other hunter fans in my house through the years, and they seem to move extremely fast especially...

Speed is not a factor in moving air. You can move air with a little fan that runs real fast or you can move the same amount of air with a big fan that moves slow.

It is the pitch of the blades that moves air. Big blades with steep pitch moving slow are comparable to little blades with shallow pitch that move fast.

It seems to me someone is trying to baffel you with bull**** when they tell you CFM = watts or something similar.

The real question is, is the fan moving the air necessary to achieve the result you desire? If yes, speed is not really a factor.

Let me know if this helps you.

Casablanca fan only runs at highest speed

When I turn on any of the fan speeds fan does not come on. When I remove the blades and turn on the ceiling fan on and give it a push the fan stays running. What could it be?

I'm feeding 8/4 alder through the powermatic strait line saw

Sounds like the power feeder is not holding it secure at the end of the pass. Is the outfeed table running level to the saw table?
Just a wild guess, I'm afraid. I haven't used one myself.
The only time I've seen blades wobble like that was when they were light plates, undersized for heavy duty ripping operations. It's truly frightening to watch them overheat and turn to butter like that. I'd recommend getting a heavier plated saw blade if there's any question about yours.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

When cutting softwood/ hardwood should the saw

The blade should only be on a slow speed, for intricate work.
(To make sure that whatever you're cutting, doesn't get too excited.)
Otherwise, it should generally be on the fastest setting.
Thats it, oh except, be carefull and mindfull of what this baby can do;)
Don't forget to rate, thanks

Ceiling fan turns slowly

If you've had it for a few years, the bearings are probably getting bad (dry).
Always start a fan on high---then go to the speed you want, only the high speed windings will handle start-up.
