Question about Samsung Televison & Video

Open Question

With my fire TV stick connected to the HDMI port and USB power source. I cannot get my TV to recognise the existence of the fire stick. What do have to do?

My Samsung TV has 2 spare HDMI ports - tried both with no effect from either. I asume that the Select button on fire stick should make the connection? Would there be a time delay?

SOURCE: Printer connected to a Asus

I'm having the same issue with the same router and printer (mine is CLP-300/XXA).
At first when I try t print a pdf file or an image or any text/word document file with pictures/images I get an SPL-C error.
I have upgraded the firmware and it worked great on my laptop! Then, I tried to install the printer driver on my desktop, but now none of them work correctly.

Still not solved, but here are some suggestions:
1. Try to upgrade the firmware. 2. Try to install the original samsung printer driver 3.0.1
3. If it didn't work try to install the updated driver 3.0.4 4. If it didn't work try to install the Universal Printer Driver
5. IMPORTANT: between uninstalling and installing driver, disconnect both printer and router A/C power adapter and try to reboot you PC after removing the previous driver!
I'm going to work on it and see if it works. The DD-WRT firmware solved the exact same problem on my previous RT-N13U router, but unfortunately DD-WRT doesn't support RT-N56U yet!
Note: I called ASUS and they told me that Samsung printers are not supported for printer sharing server :(

SOURCE: when i plug an hdmi

Hi, When you use the HDMI you have to switch the TV to HDMI to make it work. Not the other way around. Select the menu on your TV click to HDMI 1 or 2 depending which you are using. Sometime you have to ignor what it says. Try it out any way. Good luck.

Does my fire tv stick need a cable box to function or can I just plug it from my tv to the electric outlets

The Fire Stick just needs a HDMI port to plug into. The ones on the tv (assuming it's a newerish tv with HDMI connections) will work fine.

Connecting fire stick to tv. i am a prime member with amazon

Setting up Amazon Fire TV Stick hardware
  1. Plug the micro-USB power cable into your Fire TV Stick and the other end into the plug adapter and into the wall.
  2. Plug your Fire TV Stick into an HDMI port on your TV (a cable is included to extend the HDMI reach if you've got a particularly tricky TV).
  3. Next, turn on your TV and switch the input to the right HDMI port
  4. You won't be able to interact with Fire TV Stick until you pair a remote. Thankfully, by just inserting the batteries into the included remote, it should pair automatically. If this fails, you can download and use the Amazon Fire TV remote app on your phone.
  5. Now it's time to set up your wireless network. Fire TV Stick should automatically detect your Wi-Fi. Select your network and enter any passwords.
  6. Your Fire TV Stick will then check for updates and download anything it doesn't have before letting you continue. Depending on how new your Stick is and the strength of your connection, this could take some time.
  7. If you bought your Fire TV Stick from Amazon, it will have arrived already logged in and set up with your account, which is handy. If not, don't worry, it's very easy to set up a new account on Fire TV, requiring nothing more than your Amazon login details.
  8. Once done, you'll be treated to an unskippable introduction to your Fire TV Stick, taking you through the basics of what the system can do and how to make the most of its features.
  9. From here, you can set up parental control settings before you start using your Fire TV Stick as intended.
Now you've set your Fire TV Stick up, here's how to install Kodi on it.

Hi, I purchased a firetvstick but it does not respond after plugged into my smart tv. help

Check list:

1) Do you have your fire stick powered?
Connected via usb cable to a power adapter
plugged into a power strip that has the power on,
power switch is off....so on.

2) Do you have your TV input set to the correct HDMI input?
Depending on the model you may have 2 to 4 HDMI inputs.
This is the most common error.
Please make sure the input is set to the correct input
of where your fire stick is plugged in to.

3) If you have power and the input in your TV is set.
And you still have nothing.
Then your firestick might be defective.

4) If it is working, read the instructions carefully.
connect your fire stick to your wi fi and register your fire stick.
Then enjoy!!

Can I connect my fire hd 10 to my tv using a cable.

It seems as if it is possible to connect your Fire HD 10 to a TV via a HDMI cable. In order to do this you will either need:
  • Amazon HDMI adapter for fire tablets
  • Micro HDMI/ USB to HDMI cable
Here is a helpful article with ways to connect to a TV and links to the types of adapters on amazon.

I can not find an HDM1 port on my Sharp TV. Can I use the USB Port?

No, the HDMI plug will not fit into a USB port. (It's the wrong shape and the pins are different.) The micro-USB port can be connected to some USB ports for power, not data, with the appropriate cable (micro USB to type A). (Without the model of your Sharp TV, I do not know if the USB port has the right specifications. Some older TVs only have a "service port" which doesn't always provide enough power.)

There are HDMI to component video/audio converters that may work. They do not always work with copy protected (HDCP) content. See http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/770115-REG/KanexPro_HDRGBRL_HDMI_to_Component_Converter.html for one example. (Composite video is not recommended since that will downgrade the signal to 480i. Component video supports 1080p signals.)

If you have 1 HDMI port, then a multi-port HDMI switch may work. Note: automatic switches often do not switch on their own with some sources. If the source never actually turns off, like some set-top boxes, you'll need to switch the unit manually.

I hope this helps.

Don't know how to get my Amazon Fire stick going

Any HDMI will work, you just have to pick the right input on your tv to see it. If you plug in to the hdmi labeled "input 2" then use your tv remote to select input 2. Also dont plug in the power cable to the telrvision, while convenient sometimes the voltage or amperage of the tvs usb does not supply enoigh power. Use the provided ac adaptor as well

When selecting the source, HDMI 2 will not highlight, Only TV. HDMI cable connected to box and to HDMI2 port on TV

You have to check the HDMI cable. In Samsung tvs the HDMI sources only highlights if the a proper HDMI sources is connected to the corresponding HDMI port of the tv. Also check by connecting any other device which have and HDMI connectivity to the HDMI 2 port.
